Elliot’s pov.
When I discovered Soal's power, I felt accomplished. Important, even. But now, running down the hall with guards in my tail, I feel like a coward. A feeling I promised myself I would never feel again.
I stop running and turn to face the upcoming guards. I send balls of fire after them, creating a wall of fire between us. I laugh and stick out my tongue at the guard baring his teeth at me. It's only when a guy walks up to the fire and throws water from an unknown source on to my baby, putting it out.
"Hey!" I pout. "That's not nice."
The guy just stares at me before he takes water, which evidently comes from his hands, and launches it at me. I reduce it to a cloud of steam with a lazy blast of fire.
"C'mon man. Is that all you've got?" I taunt him. I can't go anywhere. Might as well have fun.
He glares at me and launches another blast and another, they just keep coming. Not that any of them hit their mark. This is becoming a nuisance. I got stuff to do.
"Dude. It's obviously not going to work. Got anything else?" I ask.
He grits his teeth. I've gotten to him. Maybe things could get interesting.
"Good luck evaporating this one." He sneers.
"Thank you!" I reply, smiling enthusiastically.
He bares his teeth at me and focuses on the water collecting in his hands.
"Those are some nice pearly whites you got there!" I say, still smiling.
"SHUT UP!!!" he yells as he launches the steaming water at me.
"We'll that's not nice," is the last thing I say before the water lands on me.
