Isis’s pov (didn't see that one coming.)
I wake up on the floor in the same spot that I had passed out on. The pain in my back is gone but there is a new weight there. Maybe it's a new form of torture this messed up government is putting me through. I walk up to the jagged piece of glass that serves as my mirror and see something that most definitely wasn't there before. Two large purple wings have sprouted from my back.
Whoa. Maybe this is the special quality my captors were talking about. I practice flying for about an hour. It's really easy once you get the hang of it. I don't even care that I seem to have grown a pair of wings overnight. Stranger things have happened to me.
Suddenly, another unexpected thing happens. I'm hit with the urge to go to the amusement park. I shrug it off and go to get dressed I'm the minimal amount of clothes I own, a gift from the government for doing well on their horrible tests.
I pull on my black skinny jeans and a Mirror Image tee-shirt. I sigh. I really do miss Alex. But he thinks I'm dead. I'd never be able to get close enough to tell him.
I then make sure my wings are covered by my black jacket. They retract easily into my back so there isn't much to cover.
Pulling in my combat boots I make sure to cover the ankle bracelet that tracks my every move. I still can't get it off.
I take out some of the cash I saved up from my thirty dollars a week "gift" and head out the front door off my run-down one room apartment. Another "gift".
Did I mention I'm only fifteen? That's an accomplishment. It should be a show. 15 and kidnapped by the government. I would watch it.
I take a taxi cab to the amusement park and buy my ticket.
The amusement park is fun and stuff, but I still feel like there's something in supposed to be doing. I walk around for a bit before I feel a tingling sensation in my eyes.
'Turn left.' A voice in my head says.
I follow it cause, hey. I got nothing better to do.
It guides me through a series of turns until I come face to face with someone I never thought I'd meet. Like ever.
