3. We did it.

'' Is this it?'' i asked.

'' Yes. Are you ready?''

I nodded.

'' Let's do this.'' Denis said knocking at the door.

I took his hand so i would feel a bit more comfortable.

In a minute the door opened and in the doorway there was standing his mom. For a second she looked happy.

'' You came.''

Then she saw me and everything changed. I could feel Denis tense up too as for a second she gave us some hope everything will be okay.

'' Why did you have to take this girl with you? She ruinned everything!'' she yelled.

I was speechless. How could she talk about me like that? She didn't even know me. She didn't even ask if Denis was happy. I quickly realised her problem wasn't with Denis, it was with me. I still tried my best to stay calm for Denis.

'' I didn't ruin anything.'' i said staying calm.

She immediately turned to me and started to come closer to me as i started to back off.

'' You? You made him leave. Move away. Spend his money on you. Money that he earned from his hard work.'' she said starting to get more and more mad as i felt tears stream down my cheeks.

I didn't say anything. I couldn't fight this woman. But i wanted to know what was her problem.

'' Stop it right now!'' Denis screamed taking her hand.

She looked at him shocked.

'' But Den-'' she started.

'' I don't want to hear a single fucking thing. Alexis did absolutely nothing. I choose to leave for her, i choose to spend my money on us two. I choose to love her and you're not stopping me with your god damn stupid arguments because you don't even know her. I came here to talk but if this is how everything is gonna go i'm leaving right now back to Oregon.''

She took a moment to think about everything her son said as she was just standing there shocked. Denis came up to me and took me into his arms trying to calm me down.

'' I didn't want this to happen beautiful.'' he said kissing my forehead.

'' Why does she hate me so much?'' i whispered.

'' I don't know. That's what i want to know.'' he sighted.

''Denis i-''

'' I came here to talk so stop hating on my girlfriend or i will leave and i'm not coming back.''

'' I am sorry.'' she said looking at Denis with a sad expression.

'' Sorry is not enough.'' he muttered. '' Come on Alexis.'' he said dragging me in.

Some minutes later i was in the living room with Denis. His mom was in another room talking with his father while we were waiting. Denis was sitting on the couch while i was pacing around the room looking at old photos of my sweet boyfriend.

'' You were so cute.'' i said looking at a photo.

'' I guess i was.'' he laughed.

I could tell he was mad but he didn't want to snap at me. I walked over to the couch and sat next to him intertwining my fingers with his. He stopped for a moment and looked at me.

'' I told you, you should have stayed home. Look what this is doing to you.''

'' It's showing you how much i care and how much i love you.''

'' But i already knew that. You don't have to prove anything.''

I shook my head.

'' I have to prove your mother.''

'' Alexis you don't h-'' he stopped when his parents entered the room.

His dad calmly waved at me as i waved back. He loved me even if he didn't know me. He came over to Denis and whispered something to him then sat on another couch next to his wife.

'' What did he tell you?'' i whispered to Denis.

'' That everything is going to be okay.'' he smiled.

'' Why did you leave? For a person you didn't even know?'' his mom asked catching our attention.

I had to leave Denis to talk now.

'' First of all, i didn't leave for somebody i didn't knew. I met Alexis at one of our concerts when she gave me her drawing of me.''

'' Oh so you are an artist.'' his dad said to me.

'' I am. I am a tattoo artist. I have my own tattoo shop back in Oregon.'' i smiled.

'' After that i had one week free and i decided to go spend it with her. To get to know her.'' Denis continued.

'' And what happened?'' his mom asked.

'' I fell in love with her more than i already was.''

I smiled remembering everything. I knew the whole story. Denis told me this story so many times. He was always in love with me as i was with him but none of us was brave enough to do something.

He continued to tell the story. How we first moved together, how we became a couple, how we moved in the house we were living right now, how we attended Ben and Hailey's wedding and how we got there.

'' Ben is married?'' his mom asked surprised.

Denis nodded.

'' I didn't know this.'' she whispered.

'' I see you have Denis' name tattooed.'' his dad smiled pointing at my wrist.

'' I do yeah. I got it before we were together.'' i said.

'' You got my son's name tattooed before you even where together? Why?'' his mom asked calmly the subject obviously catching her attention.

'' Because i loved him. He wasn't my boyfriend when i got it but he was my best friend and i loved him like i love him now.'' i said slightly smiling.

'' I was wrong.'' she whispered as she got up.

'' I was wrong about it. About everything.'' she said looking at me.

I just watched her. I didn't like to see her sad because she was wrong but it was true, she was wrong.

'' Do you really love my son?'' she asked as she stopped in front of me.

I didn't even need to think.

'' With all my heart. I do love Denis.''

She just hugged me.

'' I am sorry. This is not i should have reacted. Will it be possible that you will forgive me?''

'' Of course. Everybody can be wrong.''

'' Denis, i am sorry. I wasn't the best mother. I know.''

'' Mom. All i wanted was for you to understand that i loved her for real.''

'' I know and i didn't make it easy for you. You had to come all this way because you wanted to show me.''

'' Let's forget it. We are okay now. Alexis is a part of this family.'' he smiled taking my hand.

I was relieved. Everything was finally fine.

'' We did it.'' Denis whispered to me.

'' We did.'' i smiled.
