Kate's POV

"Kelly! Stop, you don't want to do this! You have the bracelet, take it and let Leo go!"

My heart was beating out of my chest, and I knew if she killed Leo now, I would die too. I can't live without him, and I knew that.

Even breathing was hard at this point as I was hyperventilating at a new level while trying to talk to Kelly. I took a deep breath.

"Kelly, you are better than this. You aren't a murderer. Why are you doing this?" I tried saying it as calmly as possible.

She lowered the gun and walked over to me with dead ice in her eyes.

"Because Leo needs to die for this to work. It's all part of the plan."

"What p-plan?" I stammered.

"So everyone will think Leo died of natural causes. Ned knows some doctors who can pretend that Leo died of natural cases and the press will believe..."

She trailed off and covered her mouth with her hands as she realized what she had done.

"Ned? NED?" I yelled.

"Well, this is mine and Ned's plan," she said quietly as she realized she had just let the dogs out. "I get the bracelet and Ned gets you. He's the one who got assassins to shoot Leo, but they missed and he didn't die."

My blood was boiling like the core of the earth. Kelly wasn't behind this, Ned was. My own husband. He wanted to kill my best friend. He will pay. I don't care if he is the father of my child, my husband.

All the memories of me and Ned rushed back as I wondered how the great man I fell in "love" with had become such a monster.

It was dark outside now, and cold. And so dark. It seemed even darker tonight. Chills went up my spines and I prayed that Bloody Mary could come and kill these people and let me and Leo escape.

"Please Kelly," I begged. "You are better than Ned, he is a foul creature. You can do better. That is Leo over there, are you telling me that you didn't love him at all? Not for even one second?"

I eyed anything in the room that could help me in any way. I didn't want to try struggling too much or the huge men standing on either side of me would be more aware of me.

Flicking her blonde hair then twisting it around her finger, Kelly wandered over to be and leaned in really close to my face.

Too close in my opinion, I could feel her warm breath on my face as it sliced through the cool air around me, in the cold drafty air in the building.

Kelly froze. "Yes, I loved Leo. But he obviously loves you," she replied.

"But don't you see, Leo loved you too, and I tiny bit of him still loves you and he cares about you. I'm his best friend, he told me about it."

She looked over at Leo who was half unconscious.

"I...well..." Kelly trailed off.

He looked absolutely terrible. He had blood trickling down his forehead, and his unusually bright blue eyes looked dull. He had cuts and bruises all over his face and body. It was shattering me to see him like this.

"Are you saying you don't care about him too?" I carried on. "Not at all? And I know you still do, deep down in your heart."'

"I can't...I can't stop now I'll be arrested," she gripped the gun tighter. "I'm so sorry Leo. I'm sorry Kate. This was all wrong of me but I can't stop now, what's done is done. I watched as her hands started trembling. She was barely just managing to hold the gun.

Tears started rushing down her face as she had pain and regret written all over it. She walked over to Leo sobbing.

"I'm sorry Leo. I love you," she whispered.

She lifted the gun.

She aimed.

She shot.
