Kelly's POV

The water fell down my back as I stood in the shower. I turned it off, and walked out with my hair dripping.

Leo was seated on the bed reading something on his laptop. He didn't look the slightest bit sick.

I don't understand. Why isn't he dying?

"Leo?"

He looked up at me. "Yeah?"

He looked absolutely healthy. No sign of death. His face wasn't even pale. It didn't add up at all.

"N-nothing," I quickly said.

"Kelly, are you alright? You haven't quite been...yourself lately."

"Yeah I'm fine," I lied.

Of course I'm not fine you bastard, why aren't  you freaking dead yet? You are supposed to be dying! Geez!

Leo gave me another suspicious look and continued to scroll through some stupid animal welfare thing. Him and his endangered species. I don't see what's so interesting about that stuff.

I scurried over to my hand bag and grabbed it, taking it into the bathroom.

I locked the door and then when through it till I found the bottle of poison. I picked it up and had a good look at the label.

Vanilla essence

Are you fucking kidding me right now? I put vanilla essence in Leo's food instead of the poison? For fucks sake! No wonder he said it had a vanilla taste to it!

I felt so angry with myself. I had placed the poison with the vanilla essence temporarily in the baking cupboard to conceal it, since it looked like the vanilla, I thought if any body came across it, it would pass as another bottle of vanilla. But no, I myself was fooled by it. When the time came, I must have picked up the vanilla essence instead of the poison.

They did come in similar bottles. Which means the poison is still in the kitchen cupboard. I dropped everything and ran over to the kitchen.

I opened the cupboard and scanned the baking shelf. I looked again and again.

But there was no sign of the poison.

Leo's POV

I had to wake up early for a business meeting with my agent that was supposedly important.

I laid in bed, not wanting to get up. Kelly came into bed very grumpy yesterday, I really do wonder what's up with her. I know I have to let her go.

Groaning at the ache in my arm, I slipped into a clean white shirt and a striped red and yellow tie with black pants.

Kelly was still fast asleep and so was Kate. I told Kelly before we went to sleep that I had a meeting to go too, right after I got the email, so she knows where I will be.

But Kate doesn't and I didn't want to wake her up. So I decided it would be best to just leave, I'd be back by lunchtime.

Eating some musli, I read through the magazine on the table and hurried off.

Kate's POV

I've been in the house alone for a while now. The last person here was Kelly, and as soon as I got up, I caught her heading out of the house. She didn't talk to me even though I asked her where Leo was.
