Kate's POV
"Ned! Wait!" I yelled.
He turned around sharply. "What is it?"
"I bought the kids suitcases," I quickly said. He was probably expecting me to say something else. But seriously, Leo is my best friend and Ned knows that.
He shot me a glare and carried on over to the kids lounge. He took Bear in his arms.
Bear didn't seem very happy about it, but Ned didn't seem to care. I can't believe it but I'm kind of concerned about sending my kids with him.
I know I said I would give him a second chance, but all I could think about was that horrible man whipping my back with the belt.
I gave him a lecture on do's and don'ts. He seemed absolutely uninterested in anything I had to say.
I went back to Leo to find him surrounded by nurses. Panicking, I ran over to them.
"What's happening?" I cried.
"He hasn't got enough blood in his body," one of the nurses exclaimed as she connected some more wires to Leo. "We need to find someone with the same blood type as him. If not it can be very...bad," she continued as if she was trying not to alarm me.
I remembered that time me and Leo were talking about blood types.
"Doctor," I said turning to an older man. "I have the same blood type. Take some of mine if you need too, just let him be alright."
Next thing I knew, I was laying in a hospital bed next to Leo. They injected a needle into my arm and I watched as the blood from my body went into a bag, then too Leo.
He looked so peaceful, his eyes were closed. I could feel myself tearing up again. I can't loose my precious Leo.
I didn't take my eyes off him as I saw Ned walking past with the kids. They saw me and ran over instantly.
I gave them a kiss on the head and told them too be good while they bombarded me with endless questions about what happened to Leo.
I avoided their questions as Ned grabbed their hands and pulled Mia and Joe out of the room. He gave me an annoyed glance one last time. He looked at me, then Leo.
"I'll call you," he muttered.
And with that, there were gone.
Leaving his wife in America, and all he says is "I'll call you"? I hope he takes care of the kids properly, since it's always me who takes care of them while Ned is out "having fun".
The nurses took the needle out of my arm as I winced in pain. I really hate needles.
I waited for Leo to wake up. His magnificent blue eyes no where in sight. And I was just waiting to see them, as soon as his eyelids open.
Taking my hand, I stroked his forehead. "You were always there for me when no one else was, when I felt alone," I whispered to him.
"You taught me how to be someone," I continued. No movement.
"My life would not be as amazing if you hadn't come into it. I would thank James Cameron on my knees if I have too. If it weren't for Titanic, we wouldn't be here," I finished.
I reached over and planted a kiss on his forehead.
Leo's POV
I ran through the woods, the drums were beating in the background. I desperately looked for a way to escape them.
As I groaned at the endless forest, the leaves falling into puddles on the ground, I placed my hand on my heart.
The beat wasn't drums, it was my heartbeat. I tried to figure out why they were so loud, and getting louder.
"Leo!" A familiar voice echoed through the woods. With her soothing tone and English accent, I could recognize that voice from a million miles away.
"Kate!" Listening out for her voice again, I ran towards the direction I thought it was coming in.
As I dashed through the dark woods, I tripped and fell, right in front of a puddle. Grabbing the energy to get back up, I looked at my reflection.
But it wasn't my reflection. Kate looked back at me through the water. She held out her hand.
I grabbed it and pulled her straight out of the puddle. I watched in horror as the puddle of water turned to blood, and Kate had blood dripping down her arm.
"It's alright Leo," she smiled.
She placed her hand on my forehead and stroked it. "You were always there for me when no one else was, when I felt alone," she whispered to me. "You taught me how to be someone."
She continued to stroke my forehead.
"My life would not be as amazing if you hadn't come into it. I would thank James Cameron on my knees if I have too. If it weren't for Titanic, we wouldn't be here." Kate finished.
"I love you," I whispered, tears streaming down my face.
She kisses my forehead.
I wake up with a start, to find Kate sitting next to me. Slowly, everything started coming back to me.
Kate went to talk to Ned when he went to get the kids, and then I felt dizzy. I threw up and then felt extremely light headed.
I remembered slipping away slowly into the darkness and nurses and doctors crowded around me.
"Leo, how are you feeling darling?" Kate questioned.
"What happened?"
"You became unconscious because you didn't have enough blood in your body," Kate went on.
"How did I get enough blood in my body?"
Kate lifted up her sleeve to reveal a small round bandage on her arm. Then the dream made sense.
"Oh Katie, you did that for me?" I felt so lucky to have such a great friend.
"Of course! Anything for you Leo, you are the love of my life," she giggled.
"Right okay, and vice versa," I chuckled.
She blushed, which I didn't understand, why would she blush at anything I said?
"Leo," she said quickly.
"Yes?"
"You mumbled something just before you woke up."
"And?"
"What was it, I didn't quite catch it."
"Oh," I said biting my lip. "It was nothing, in fact, I barely remember myself!"
She looked at me then dropped the subject. Then she got up.
"I'm going to get a coffee, from the kitchen, not far from here. Do you want one?"
I did need some coffee to wake up a bit more from...let's say...near death experience. Once again. Two in one day? First the shooting, and I survived. Second the lack of blood. And I still survived.
"Yes thanks," I responded.
"Are you sure you'll be alright alone?" She frowned.
"I'm not five," I grinned. "I'll live, although I almost died. Twice."
Kate laughed at turned around to walk out of the room.
"Oh, and Kate?" I paused.
"Yeah?"
"I think I'll come along and thank James Cameron on my knees with you."
