In the close future, 0.3 % of earth's population are genetically modified to be able to transform into different animals. They have the power to transform into one animal, and rarely 2. On their 12th birthday, they disappear . No one knows why and where they go, and it's become a modern legend.
Unbeknownst to the general public, they get put into training in a secret location to harness their powers. After that, they have a choice; either stay in their community and hide their powers or else they can go through a portal to another world where they can bring nothing, but what they are wearing with them. This story is about two of these individuals and their life stories.
