I feel a sudden pain run up my body, and my vision oddly turns blue. I scream out loud, and notice that Emily is doing the same. All of a sudden, I fall, and my vision goes back to normal. Then, my vision goes black and I fall asleep.
I wake up to a plop sound around me. My eyes flutter open, and drops of water fall into my eyes. I sit up, and realize that I am laying... In mud. EWWWWWWWWWW! My first reaction is to wash it off, so I jump into the stream and wash off the mud. That's when I realize that that was stupid, because even though I have another change of clothes and more boots, my clothes and undergarments still have to dry, and we don't really have the sun. That's when I remember that I can change the weather, so I stand up, and put my hands up to the sky, but instead of the sky turning blue, and the clouds going away, a big glob of water falls on me. What was that? That must have been the rain that looked huge in my eyes, and that scared me and so it didn't work. So I try again, and this time, the clouds go away and the sun comes out. There. Then, I remember Emily, and I go and shake her awake. She wakes up, and washes off her clothes, and then we both take turns changing. When we are done changing, Emily summons up a vine and we hang out clothes on that. Then, we go back to check on Sherman. He is still lying on the ground, but now wet, from the rain. I feel his heart and feel nothing, and so does Emily. He's dead. 100% sure. So Emily and I decide to burry him. Emily digs a big hole, and we put his body in it. Then she covers him up. We take a moment and think about the moments we spent with Sherman, even if they aren't good. Then we cover him up, and Emily plants purple flowers over his body. Then, I carve away at a rock for his gravestone. It finally said:
"Sherman:
"A smart boy who mattered very much to his family. "
RIP"Emily sticks the gravestone into the ground, and we take another moment. Then, we finally speak.
"Well,"
Emily says.
"Well."
I reply.
"We should probably eat something."
I continue.
"Yes."
She replies.
"I'll go set the table if you get the food."
I offer.
"Sure!"
She replies.
So I set the table, and then she returns a few minutes later carrying berries, some roots, mushrooms and a roasted chicken. I then separate the food equally while Emily takes of her shoes and settles down. Then we eat in silence. I take off my shoes when we are done, and we both decide to take naps, and so I settle down in my bed. I pull the covers over my head and fluff up the pillow, and I fall asleep. I dream this time. A white mist appears and I see a blurry form. All of a sudden, my vision clears and the shape is clearer now. It's a woman with 12 sets of arms running down her body. Her skin is white, and is glowing softly. All of a sudden she speaks.
"Bearer of wind, I have come to you to emphasize what has happened to you. The bearer of water dissipated, leaving his soul to the first that have found him. But a bearer of wind and a bearer of nature found him, so his soul split in half and gave half to both. You are Gifted now, differently then you have been before. It was not a choice of the gods, but a choice of man,""What?"
I say
"Can you please not talk in riddles? It's really confusing,"
I continue.
"REMEMBER ME, BEARER OF WIND. I SHALL BE WATCHING OVER YOU!"
That was the last I heard of that voice.I wake up in a cold sweat, with tears running down my face. I scream. What's going on? Who was that? And why am I all covered in water?! Emily wakes up, probably from my screaming, and says:
"What's going on?"
She asks.
"I had a vision, Em."
I say.
"What?"
She replies.
"You know, one of those things that you read about in fantasy books where some person has a dream about something happening and the next day it happens, or when some mysterious person-"
"I get it,"
Emily cuts off.
"Well, what was it about?"
She continues.
"Well, there was this woman thing person thing, and she said that "The bearer of water dissipated, leaving his soul to the first that have found him. But a bearer of wind and a bearer of nature found him, so his soul split in half and gave half to both""
"Well, what does that mean?"
Asks Em.
"I don't know, Em. What are we gonna do? And... Why am I covered in water?"
Now that I think of it, Em is covered too. She sees me looking at her and says:
"What is it Cece?"
"You're covered in water as well..."
I explain.
"WHAT?"
She cries.
"We both look at each other, in utter confusuion. That when it happens again. The woman appears. I scream out loud, and Em tells me later my eyes glow white and I fall backwards in my bed. But what I see is the woman, and she says:
"Pain by the body. Pain by the grave."
Then she disappeared. I could suddenly see normally again.
"Cece!"
Emily runs over to me.
"I'm fine,"
I assure her, and I sit up.
"Let's talk after a nap, ok?"
I say, suddenly tired. Before she has a chance to reply, I fall backwards and into a deep, dreamless sleep.
