Olivia's P.O.V.

"How about this one?" Annalise said twirling around in a turquoise dress that hugged her above her hips and flowed out to her knees without straps.

"It's... Flawless!" I exclaimed. The blue looked great with her red hair. "You should totally buy that one."

"I will. I think I'm in love!" She giggled. "So, which one did you want to buy?"

"Umm, I don't know. The white makes me look like a flower girl and the pink one has too much sequins on it." I sighed, realizing Annalise wasn't paying attention. Her jaw was dropped. "Everything alright Annalise?"

"Try this on." She pulled a dress off the rack and handed it to me.

Annalise's P.O.V.

When I saw it on the rack, I knew it was the one. She walked out with a gorgeous, silky red dress that reached to her ankles. It was cut higher in the front, making the part behind her flow further down. The waist part was embroidered with clear diamond like gems, and it had no sleeves.

"You're buying it. Even if it's a million dollars over the budget, we are getting it, and I can help." I blurted out before she even turned around.

"Thanks!" She giggled. "But I won't let you spend some of your money on me that I'm probably only going to wear once."

"I can do what I want. Lets get this stuff checked out!" I laughed and ran to the counter.

Olivia's P.O.V.

The dance was tonight. And I was going with Evan. I wasn't sure if I had liked him, like a... you know what, or not. I threw on some eyeliner, both top and bottom, some mascara, and some brilliant red lipstick. I felt pretty again, like my first date. I had just wished Dad wasn't working overtime so he could see me.

Evan softly knocked on the door. I opened it, and my mouth dropped. He was wearing a black and white tux, with a little bow at the top of his chest. His long, floppy, brunette hair was mostly swept to the right. I never thought I would say this, but he was a hunk.

"You look, amazing." He stared

"You don't look to bad yourself!" I said, amazed.

"Shall we?" He said, gesturing to the car.

"We shall!" I giggled as we walked out.

"Sorry, it's not such a sweet ride." He said embarrassed. "It's my dads old pick-up truck."

"Are you kidding? Coolest ride ever! I'd always wanted to ride in one of these." I said, fascinated. I had never been in one before.

Evan laughed. "I'm glad you're coming with me."

"Me too. I mean, I'm glad I'm going with you too." I smiled.

The high school gym was filled with sophomores and juniors. Pop music was playing loudly for everyone to hear. The lights were off, but they were replaced by a huge disco ball with neon lights flashing everywhere.

"This is, amazing!" I glowed, after observing the gym.

"I know, right?" Evan agreed, with his eyes still wandering around. "Oh look! There's Annalise. We should probably say hi. I don't want her to feel like a third wheel."

"I agree." I answered, following Evan through the pack of people dancing.

"Hey Annalise!" Evan greeted her.

"Hey!" I smiled.

"Hey you two." She grinned. "Isn't this great? I love the setup!"

"Yeah. And we lucked out with a great DJ as well." Evan replied.

"I've never been to a dance before." I blurted out.

"Really? I'm so glad you get to be with us for your first one!" Annalise beamed as Evan glared at her. "I mean, with him." She winked.

"Me too! Thanks for being good friends guys." I smiled as my stomach growled loudly.

"You sound hungry. Maybe we should get some food." Evan suggested.

"Okay." I agreed.

"You can sit down with Anna in the cafeteria and I'll get you your food." Evan informed me.

"What a gentleman!" I laughed.

Annalise and I got out of the dark, noise-filled room and into the cafeteria. Evan brought me a cheeseburger, and we all sat and ate. After, we went back into the gym.

"I'll be back guys. I have to go to the bathroom." Evan let Annalise and I know.

"Okay." Annalise and I said in unison.

"Hey, Annalise, have you heard about our math 24 tournament on Saturday? It's our most important one!" A small kid my age said to Annalise.

"One sec, I gotta tell Mark about the new strategies in my math league I came up with." Annalise said as she began to walk away chattering to Mark.

I hated the feeling of being alone. It felt like I had no friends, and no one to talk to.

"Hey." Someone said snapping me out of my thoughts. It was Tanner. At least he kept me from looking like I was a loner.

"Hey..." I muttered.

"Look, I know you're mad at me, but can we please get past this and at least say hi once and a while?" Tanner asked.

"I don't know. I'm still pretty shaken up about Liliana." I sighed. "Plus I can't picture us talking, it's just, you dated the one person that was a friend a liked, but then hated, I mean--"

"Wait, you hated Liliana?" Tanner said, shocked.

"Look, we had a fight. I got mad at her because she never told me anything it was like she didn't trust me. I deserved to know things about her." I swallowed a lump in my throat.

"Olivia, she was trying to... protect you." Tanner admitted. I was shocked. Tanner really did know something about Liliana. Maybe something that could lead to why she's missing or where she is.

"From who?" I asked.

Tanner opened his mouth about to reply, but was interrupted by Evan.

"Care to dance?" Evan smiled as I realized a slow song was playing.

"Sure." I responded, glancing at Tanner who had started to walk away.
