Olivia's P.O.V.
I knocked on the door, ever so slightly. I really did not want to do this. Even though Brad seemed innocent, I knew I couldn't really trust anyone. I had to remind myself why I came; to find the truth. And not just for me, for others. I needed to find the truth out on my own, because when other people try to tell me, they die.
"Hey Olivia. I never thought you would come." He smirked, swinging the door open and snapping me out of my thoughts.
"I didn't either, but I need a place to... stay." I replied.
"Come on in."
The room looked just like a regular hotel room. Tan walls with a floral border, two white beds, with two little white chairs lined up with a coffee table and a small flat screen TV, a counter that consisted of your basic kitchen appliances, and a large window.
"Good thing there's two beds..." I muttered under my breath. Oh wait, did I just say that out loud?
"What was that?" Brad asked.
"Nothing." I smiled innocently.
"So how long did you want to stay here?"
"Oh, just a night. I just need a place to stay." I said.
"What kind of job are you looking for?"
"Oh, umm..." I started to think. "Just a simple one. My parents died a while ago and I need a place now that I'm older as well as a job." I wasn't quite sure if that even made sense.
"Oh, well you can stay here as long as you like." He beamed.
I smiled and excused myself to the bathroom. I pulled out my phone.
18 missed calls from Evan
37 missed calls from Dad
13 missed calls from Annalise
2 missed calls from a restricted number
Right when I finished reading my missed call log, there was an incoming call from Dad.
I hesitantly pressed decline.
I shoved my phone back into my pocket, and started to realize how drowsy I was getting. I needed to sleep. It was nearly 11:00 PM.
This was probably the most weird and risky thing I've ever done. It's not the average thing to do; meeting some random guy and staying at his place for the night. I was only trying to find answers, for the life of others.
I slipped into some comfy pajama shorts in the bathroom, and walked out to find Brad reading a book, settled in bed.
Since he was in the bed on the right, I sensibly took the one on the left, closest to the door.
"I have a question." I asked.
"Ask away." He said, face still buried into his book.
"Do you know Liliana Brickshaw?" I asked. I needed to know.
He looked up at me, as his head shot up as soon as he heard her first name.
"I... Don't know." He frowned. "Sorry I can't help."
"Oh it's fine." I half-smiled.
Something about what I asked him, made the uneasiness from his body radiate off of him filling the entire room with the same emotion.
