Olivia's P.O.V.

"The dance is pretty much over." Evan said, watching people start to leave. "Should we go?"

"Sure..." I said, still scanning the gym for Tanner. I needed to know what he was going to say.

We left the gym and entered the cafeteria. Through the glass doors that were the school's main entrance, I could see red and blue lights flashing on and off, just like strobe lights.

"What's going on out there?" I asked Evan curiously.

"I don't know..." Evan said.

"Guys!" I heard someone tell from behind me coming near. It was Annalise.

"Everything okay?" Evan asked concerned.

"I'm fine. But Tanner isn't!" She said panicky.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"He was shot!" Annalise exclaimed.

"Is he okay?" Evan wondered.

"He- he's...dead." Annalise confirmed.

Oh. My. God.

I couldn't speak. My voice refused to let any words out.

"Lets go home." Evan said throwing his arm over my shoulder, securing me while leading me to his car. All I could see were police cars and an ambulance. Then I saw a white stretcher being pushed by two men and put into the back of the ambulance.

We got into Evan's car, and we drove home in silence. It finally hit me, everyone that seems to know more than I do about Liliana disappears. Someone thought Tanner knew too much.

Evan pulled into my driveway.

"Are you okay?" He asked worried.

"Yeah... It's just, weird. I don't get it." I managed to say.

"I don't either." Evan sighed.

"Well I better get going. Goodnight." I said, not knowing what else to say.

Evan leaned down and kissed me. We locked lips and I felt secure. It helped me take my mind off of Tanner's death. He grabbed my waist and pulled me on top of him and we sunk into the drivers seat as his foot hit the car horn.

"BEEP!" The car horn screamed. We both managed to giggle.

"I really have to go." I managed to say in between kisses.

Evan took his hands off my waist and released me. "Goodnight, Evan." I smiled. When I got to my room, I decided I needed to sleep. But when I tried, I just stared at the blank wall, running everything that happened tonight through my mind. I knew that night would be rough.

When I woke up, my hair was nearly poking out in all directions, and my mascara was smeared under my eyes. After I took a hot shower and changed into some daytime clothes, I came to the conclusion that I was desperate for answers. With Tanner dead, the suspense for the truth was killing me. I knew I was taking a shot in the dark, but I was going to call that number I found inside the picture frame. I wanted answers so badly, I was willing to do the craziest things.

"Ring, ring, ring." My cell phone sang as I waited for a voice.

"Hello, this is Violet Inn. How may I help you?" A friendly woman voice said to my relief.

"Hi." I said completely blinded on what I was doing. "Umm, do you happen to know Liliana Brickshaw?"

"Umm, excuse me?" The woman said. "Maybe you have the wrong number. This is for hotel service."

"Then why did you say your name was Violet Inn when you answered the phone?" I asked.

I heard the woman chuckle. "No, the hotel is called Violet Inn."

"Oh... I think I know where Violet Inn is." I lied. "Is it in Riverview?" I said, knowing she would tell me that was wrong and where it is.

"No, it's in Bismarck." The woman said as I predicted. "So did you need anything?" She asked, becoming impatient.

"Actually, I think I have the wrong number." I answered and hung up.

Bismarck was only 50 minutes away from where I lived. Maybe Liliana is hiding there.
