28 - Early Wedding Gift...

NEIL'S POV

      I feel so nervous while waiting for Kish and her Doctor. Andito kami ngayon sa hospital, ang lakas ng kabog ng dibdib ko, sana... sana wala ng maging problema pa. I can't lose her again. Tuwing maaalala ko yung time na muntik na siyang mawala sa akin.

       Parang sinasaksak ang dibdib ko, I close my eyes and say a silent prayer to him. Asking, begging to make everything alright for us. Hindi pa nga namin nasisimulan ang happy ever after namin eh.

       Napa-dilat ako ng maramdaman ko ang pamilyar na pakiramdam ng may humawak sa kamay ko. When I open my eyes, I see her, the woman I love most. The woman I want to grow old with.

       "Are you okay baby?" she said softly while carressing my cheek. I hold her hand and kiss it.

       "I'm fine baby, just a little nervous. You scared me, I thought... I thought I'm losing you again..." I said to her without breaking our eye contact. I saw love in her eyes, she bent down on me and kiss me on the lips.

        "You're not going to lose me baby, I'm sorry I scared you back there... Hmmm babe... come on, Doc Adrian wants to talk to us..." she said softly. I stand and hug her and give her a kiss on her forehead bago siya iginiya papunta sa opisina ng Doctor niya.

       Pag-pasok namin sa opisina ng Doctor na tumitingin kay Kish, hindi ko maiwasang kabahan, lalo na ng makita ko ang bahagyang kunot-noo nito. I hold Kish hand tighter.

       "Ohh you're here! Seat down please...." sabi nito habang minumwestra ang upuan sa harap ng table nya. Agad naman kaming tumalima ni Kish.

       "Doc... Hmm... How's .... how's my wife? She's... she's okay right? There's... there's nothing wrong with her..." sabi ko ng may kaba. I feel Kish hold my hand tighter as if saying that... "Everything's gonna be alright."

        "Of course hijo your wife is fine, she's okay..." sabi nito at bahagyang ngumiti, nakahinga ako ng maluwag dahil doon.

        "But..." muli ay sabi nito. Napa-tingin ako dito, muli ay parang may mga dagang nag-hahabulan sa dibdib ko. Mahigpit kong hinawakan ang kamay ni Kish na tila ba may aagaw dito mula sa akin. His Doctor smile when I do that.

      "But... you need to take Keisha to another Doctor... She needs check-up and vitamins too..." sabi nito at muling ngumiti. I just stared at him clueless, ang tumatakbo sa isip ko, my wife needs another doctor to look after her... It means that she's sick. And now I'm so nervous.

     "Doc... you said... my wife is okay... she's not sick... but why do we need to go to another doctor? I thought that her heart is now doing okay? You said that to me just a few weeks ago! Now your telling me that we need to see another doctor?!" Hindi ko napigilan ang pag-taas ng boses ko, para akong hindi maka-hinga. I thought that everything is doing okay. Pero ngayon sinasabing kailangan pa naming pumunta ng doctor!

     "Babe... please calm down." maya-maya ay sabi ni Kish na ikinalingon ko, she's holding my hand pero tila pinipigilan nito ang pagtawa. And her eyes fills with amusement, napa-awang ang mga labi ko... at muling napatingin sa doctor niya with confusion is written all over my face.

     Her doctor is same with Kish expression, lalo tuloy ako naguguluhan sa nangyayari. After a while, muling nagsalita ang doctor ni Kish na tila pinipigilan pa nito ang pag-tawa.

     "Your wife is fine... her heart is doing okay, you have nothing to worry about. It's just that you need to go to another doctor for checkup so you can ask her OB for her vitamins, your wife collapse because she's anemic, at sobra ang morning sickness nya tuwing umaga, she barely eat and stress too... so I suggest that you look for her OB to take care of her and your new angel... congratulations!" mahabang sabi ng doctor ni Kish at nakangiti, pero halos hindi nagsink-in sa akin ang sinabi nya. Ang tanging tumatak sa isip ko ay... were having our new baby.
