This island was way farther than anyone expected. It took 5 days just for the shore to come into focus and another day for us to land. The island seemed deserted, but then again, we had no idea what was hiding out in the bushes. Everyone was talking about how much gold they were going to get and who they would give it to once they got home or how they would spend it. I kind of did want some money now that I thought about it. I owed my Aunt Myla so much since she had taken care of me for 6 years. Not once had she ever treated me badly and she always encouraged the extreme lengths I had to take to make my dreams come true.
