Have you ever felt so much hopelessness at one time, that it forms a solid substance and builds up at the bottom of your stomach? It makes you feel empty and dark, like the sky on a foggy night. It slowly builds up. Getting thicker and thicker, until your body can no longer digest it, and begins to adapt. Causing you to build your life around the sadness.
It's almost like:
"hey, wanna come over?"
"Sorry. The dread and me have already made plans to cry in a dark room together."
Well that's how I feel right now. But I don't have the luxury of a dark room, so I will just have to cope with the dirty ground. The dirts getting tangled in with my fur, making it even more dirty and disgusting.
Wow. Never thought I'd ever hear that sentence leave my lips.
But it did.
I wiped my sleeve on my eyes, and lifted them to meet Hansel's. His face was showing deep hurt, he looked crushed. I sniffed and wiped the side of my snout where some tears were trying to hide.
"Don't cry Red. I'll help you." He touched my shoulder, showing a sad smile, trying to cheer me up.
"Thank you for all you have done Hansel, but you can't help me anymore." I forced a tight smile, knowing how fake it must have looked.
"No." He insisted through moist eyes "it's been to long. We have risked to much." He shot to his feet and bean yelling "Gretal risked her life! I won't let you give up! Get up!" I was shocked. I hadn't seen Hansel so determined about anything, I was to startled to move. "Red! Get up!" I awkwardly fumbled to my feet, still partly leaning against the tree for support. He walked over to me and lifted my small, furry body over his shoulder.
"Hansel!" I shouted shocked "what are you doing?" He started running as fast as he could while carrying my weight. I started panicking. I hadn't been lifted up in so long, especially by someone who is six years younger then me.
The ride wasn't very comfortable. But I can't say I was complaining much. I was on the verge of staying a wolf forever. How long would I have now? Probably an hour at the most. I whimpered quietly to myself.
I'm so screwed.
