A Few Days Later
I run into my room with tears running down my face. I close and lock the door behind me and plop, face into my pillow, on my bed."Caitlyn! C'mon! Come out!" Bucky's metal fist slams on my door in anger.
"I-I can't...I don't want to!" I scream back.
"Cait, c'mon. You can't stay in there forever," Natasha now joins the conversation.
"Can't you tell I don't want to come out!" I grasp my locket.
"Cait! Open the door!" Bucky, now furious, yells.
"Why? I don't want to see anybody right now!"
Natasha gets close to the door, "Cait, S.H.I.E.L.D only said that Steve will have to stay on the mission a few months longer."
"But months seem like an eternity," I say as I begin to sob even more. I punch my pillow in frustration. I bury my face in my pillow.
"Cait...," I hear a familiar voice. "Please come out, or let me in."
I look up in confusion, "What next, you want to build a snowman?" I honestly didn't want to talk to anyone.
"Really Cait, let me in." There was a pause.
"Okay...," I open the door slightly. I blink my eyes to see clearly of who was talking to me. "Clint?"
"Can I come in?" I open the door wider so he can come in. He sits on my bed with me. "Listen, I'm not good with these things but I know how it feels."
"How? How can you possibly know how I feel?"
"Long story kid. I experienced something and it felt like the world had tuned on me. Like I was by myself when really, I wasn't. You understand?" He looks at me and I nod.
"I just haven't been seperated with family since," I pause for a second.
"Since what?"
"Something personal. I'd rather not share." I look down at my feet remembering that day.
"Cait. I know you are the strong girl Steve loves and cares for as his daughter, time put on your game face and show it." I nod and he pats my back.
"Thanks Clint, I needed that," I wipe the tears from my face. We get up off my bed and head to where Bucky and Nat are.
"My work here is done," Clint says as he walks out.
"I-I'm going to go for a walk." I grab my phone, and pocket knife, and leave. You guys know where I'm going.
"Hi," I say glumly. Loki stands up.
"What's wrong, Lady Caitlyn?" He sees the tears roll down my face. I run up and hug him. He hesitates before slowly and barely putting his arms on me. I pull away.
"I'm sorry. I'm just having a tough time." I wipe the tears from my face. He does some magic and made a holographic-like bunny. I smile. "That helps. But aren't you the God of Mischief? Aren't you soppose to like...hate people?" He looks at me.
"Yes, but you are the only pathetic mortal that I partially care about." I smile.
"Admit it, you like me. I'm the only pathetic mortal you don't what to murder." He smiles and blushes awkwardly. "Well other than the time you struck me in the side. And the time you almost choked me to death. But other than that."
"Well that's a-" I give him an Admit it, I'm right look. "I never met a mortal that's as evil as I am. That's all." He does the shoo motion with his hand.
"Okie Dokie Loki!" I say walking out.
