July 4, 2016: Steve's Birthday
Today is Steve's birthday so this morning I made him pancakes with strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream to make them look like his shield. "Happy 90-something birthday, Steve!" I say lighting the candle on his pancakes. "Thank you so much Cait!" he says stuffing his mouth with bacon. I sat on his bed with him and might have took some of his bacon. "Do you have any plans today?" I ask. "No, it's my birthday vacation," Steve says sipping his coffee. "Now you do," I say. "We are going to a movie and tonight we are going to see fire works." He sets his coffee down. "What movie?" he aks getting up to get dressed and brush his teeth. "Well, it's a movie in the park. They show a different movie every year on a giant screen and projector in the park. This year the movie is Monster's Inc." I say handing him a birthday gift as he comes out of bedroom and onto the couch. He opens the gift.>>>Steve's POV<<<
I open the gift. My eyes widened and teared up a little. It was a framed picture of us walking and smiling and holding hands. "Open the card," she says handing me an envolope. I open it up. It had an Anerican Flag on the front along with an eagle. On the inside it said: I will always be your little girl. You will always be my hero. I thank you so much for taking me under your wing. I love you, dad. Love, Caitlyn. I got up and hung the picture up on an empty space on my wall.We went to see the movie and I loved it. I didn't know kids movies were so entertaining. We also got to see fireworks. We were on a big hill and we were sitting on a blanket. Crack! Boom! Fizzle! The display was amazing. She sets her head on my shoulder and sighs. This was the best birthday ever (and the best Independence Day). God bless America.
