Cait woke up to a giant light in my eyes. It was the tesseract! "Steve! Where the heck did you get that?" Cait sits straight up and gazes at it.
"We got it last night," he says, placing it in a suit case and proceeds to lock it. "Mission's over." He plops Cait's suit case at the foot of her bed. "Pack up, we're going back home."
"Are we taking Bucky with us?" She gets the suit case and starts poking clothes in it.
"Yep, and Peter," he looks at her and smiles. "Man, aren't we idiots?"
"Why would you say that?"
He stops packing, "We get in one argument and you leave for London, and I'm crazy enough to chase after you. Don't you find that idiotic?" Caitlyn laughs a little.
"Yeah, you're right."
"Did anything happen while I wasn't here? Or when we were on the mission? They both continue packing.
"Well, we caught most of Hydra's agents, got back Bucky and that's about it!" She smiles which makes Steve suspicious.
"Really? Nothing else?"
"Nope!"
"You're lying, what else happened?"
"Well you know Peter and I went out sight seeing in London," she starts trailing off.
"And?"
"He wanted to know my background, so I texted him. That's when everything went down the toilet." She sighs. "He texted Mary Jane, his girlfriend, and accedently told her everything, and I texted Zac and he found out about the interview we had a while back and broke up with me. But ya know, it's fine."
"Caitlyn, I'm sorry." He never really called her Caitlyn, mostly just Cait. "He was a jerk though."
"You're right, he was," she miles as she zips up her last suitcase.
"Ready to go?" Natasha steps out with Clint and Bucky, all holding suit cases.
"Yeah, we just have to wait for Peter," Clint says, checking his phone.
"I'll load the car while we wait," Bucky says as he puts the suitcases in the luggage cart. Caitlyn jumps on it as he wheels down the hallway.
"Start spreading the news, I'm leavin' today. I want to be a part of it, New York, New York! The vagabond shoes, are longing to stray. Right through the very heart of it, New York, New York!" Cait was singing Frank Sinatra's New York New York like it was nobody's business. Bucky starts laughing. "C'mon Bucky, I know you know the words."
"I'm not singing."
"I wanna wake up in a city that doesn't sleep, and find I'm king of the hill. Top of the heap. These little town blues are melting away, I'll make a brand new start of it...c'mon Bucky. Just four little words!" She looked at Bucky with the scene of Madagascar when Alex the Lion (Ben Stiller) is trying to persuade Marty the Zebra (Chris Rock) to stay at the zoo and not go to the wild by singing New York, New York.
"In old New York! If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere! It's up to you, New York, New York. I want to wake up in a city that never sleeps. And find I'm A-number-one, Top of the List, King of the Hill, A-Number-One!" Here comes the big finale. "These little town blues, Oooh they're melting away! I'm gonna make a brand new start of it in old New York! Aaannd if I can make it there, I'm gonna make it anywhere! It's up to you, New York, New Yooooorrk!!! New Yooooooorrkk!!" He finishes, all out of breath. I start clapping and everyone in the lobby starts clapping.
"Not bad soldier, not bad." We packed the stuff in the rental car.
"Yeah yeah, let's just get outta here. The only British person I got along with, was your mother." Caitlyn smiles as Steve, Clint and Natasha come out the doors.
"Let's get this show on the road!" Natasha jumps in the passangers seat as Steve drives. Bucky gets in the back with Clint and I sit in the very back.
"We have to get Peter first," Steve says staring to drive.
"Where is the kid anyways?" Clint looks up at the front seat.
"He told me to met him at the Chesnut Cafe at Magna Carta time." Everyone looks at her like she's crazy.
"What in the name of American Showgirls is that?" Bucky looks back at her.
"Magna Carta time is 12:15 because the Magna Carta was signed in 1215."
"She's exactly like Peggy," Bucky says under his breath, turning back around.
"Peter!" Cait screams as she points at Peter sitting at the cafe. She rolls down her window. "C'mon loser, we're going shopping!" Peter runs up to the car and sits in the very back with Caitlyn.
"I understood that reference," Steve says.
