Glimmer: A Hunger Games Fanfic
Chapter 8 Part 1
"Time to get up, dear! We have a big day ahead of us!" I hear Annette say cheerfully. I rolled over onto my back on the soft bed to see Annette open the blinds. The sunlight poured in through the window, blinding my eye sight. I groaned and billowed my head into the tear-stained pillow. Annette came over and threw the blankets off of my body, leaving me cold. "Come on, you have an hour until training starts." I lifted my face from the pillow and glared at the clock on the wall. I dragged myself off the bed and headed to the bathroom. I took one look of my puffy eyes in the mirror and splashed cold water onto my face.
I went into the dining room to see everyone already sitting down eating. I pulled up the chair next to Annette and Marilyn. Once I took a bite of a pancake, Cashmere put her fork down and stared at me.
"Where did you go last night?" She asked, her blue ice eyes boring into mine.
"I went to the Greenhouse." I reply cooly.
"Don't ever do that again, you hear me?" She shot back. " You showed weakness and that's unacceptable."
I gulped down the orange juice I had in my mouth," You're right. I was out of my place. It won't happen again."
She was of course right. If anyone of the tributes would have seen me weak, I would be viewed as a weakling. That was unacceptable and was frowned upon from the district. I have lost my mind. I had do this for Ivory or I would fail her. To me personally, I didn't just jeopardize myself, I also jeopardize Ivory.

"Welcome to training young tributes, " Atala, our head trainer says to everyone when we all of the tributes were in the training room. I smirked as I listened to her. " In the next few weeks only one of you will be alive. Please use the stations around you that will help you survive in the arena. Try not to stay at the weapons all day. Natural causes can easily kill as a knife. " She went on talking about not getting into fights with anybody in the room and things like that. I rolled my eyes.
When she finally left us to do our own thing, I turned to the district two's tributes making sure I have them as allies. I turned on my most dangerous smile, "Hi. I'm Glimmer. You?""Cato," replied the guy. He was tall, blonde, blue eyes, and his muscles were the size of my head. He was defiantly going to be a challenge.
As for the girl she didn't look like she posed much threat. She was small with dark hair and dark eyes. She looked up and said,"I'm Clove."
My district partner next to me came up and said to us," I'm Marvel."
"Alliance?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"We wouldn't have spoken to you if we didn't want an alliance," Clove said with humor in her voice.
"Point taken," I say. "Now let's hit the floor to show what we are made of."
