"Alright." The Gryffindor Quidditch Captain, Oliver Wood, says, as we huddle in a circle. "We will be trying out for chaser and seeker today. First up is chaser."There are 5 people trying out for Chaser, Katie Bell, Alicia Spinnet, two second years I don't know the name of and I. I mean, I've seen Katie play and I really wouldn't mind her on the team, but Alicia... well she keeps sending we death stares. I elbow Fred in the side, he looks over to where my gaze has fallen.
"Oh, Alicia? Don't mind her, she's always been like that." He puts his arm around my shoulders and gives me a squeeze.
"Yeah, but be careful, she's knocked people off their brooms each year just to get a place on the Gryffindor team, nearly got expelled from it." George says, oblivious to the fact that I could get pummeled in to the ground by this psychotic chick.
"George!" Fred scolds, wrapping his arms around me even tighter.
"What?...- oh, I mean, not you. You'll be fine, great even!" He stammers, realizing what he said just moments before.
"Alright, Chasers, up in the air." Oliver shouts over to us from the other side of the field.
"You'll do fine." Fred whispers to me, giving me a quick peck on the lips. You know, I could get used to that. The kiss works wonders and I can feel the energy coming back to me as I hop on my broom and fly in to the air.
"Hey, good luck." Katie says to me as I pull up beside her. See? She's nice too!
"Yeah, you too." I say, smiling at her. Oliver splits us in to two teams, Katie, the second year and I versus Alicia, the other second year and Angelina Johnson- who already gained a spot on the team.
The quaffle is thrown and we dive in to the game. I see Alicia racing towards the ball directly in front of me. Urging my broom forward, I reach the leather-bound ball just before her, jerking my broom upwards, I fly right over her. I hear the boys cheering me on from the ground, as well as Aradia, Erin, Gideon, Heather, Stacey, Lee, Parker and Aerrow- man, that's a mouthful- from the stands, I've got my own cheer squad. Tossing the quaffle to Katie, I pull up just yards from the goal, Oliver watches my every move- he's the keeper for their team. Katie ducks under Angelina, tossing the ball back to me, just as Alicia pulls up in the way of the ball, grabbing it she starts to fly down the other end towards our goal. Katie suddenly catches my eye, telling me to fly up to Alicia's left side, nodding I do just that, silently. Like a ninja!
"Hey!" I yell, right next to her ear, causing her to drop the quaffle right in to Katie's arms as she was flying underneath her. With a neat turn, she heads back down to the other end of the field, me right on her tail. She tosses the ball to me just as Angelina blocks her way. Speeding down the pitch tricking Oliver with a trick shot, I hurtle the ball towards the goal. Suddenly I feel a sharp pain run down my spine as the ball leaves my hand, I start falling towards the ground.
What happened? I couldn't have just fallen off, and we're not using bludgers... so what could it have been? I hear screams in my ear as I fall towards the ground, well it actually feels like I'm floating because everything's in slooooowwwwww mooottttiioooonnnn.
My hair whipping against my face, I think I'll get a haircut, it's starting to get annoying- Chelsea! This is not the time! You are falling towards the ground without any ability to stop yourself!
Silent. Is the one word I would use to describe where I am. It's silent, really silent. Like death- oh my god! Am I dead?! This is like the barrier to platform 9 3/4 all over again! ... But all I had to do was open my eyes, just open my eyes. Open!
...
**Fred's POV**
"Yeah, go Chelsea!" We all cheer as she races with the ball towards the goal.
