Katniss POV:
"BRING, BRING, BRING!" My alarm screams at me. I groan and turn over in my bed slaming my hand down on top of the alarm clock making it shut up for a few seconds. I slowly crawl out of bed and end up falling out not used to the hanging bed that I was in.
"Ow." I mutter under my breath really annoyed by the whole situation at the moment. I get up and turn my alarm off all the way and walk towards the light switch and then I slap my hand on the switch and it turns on piercing my eyes with the brightness making me moan again. I drag my feet over to my closet and throw open the doors to it and find my outfit (On Top).
"Katniss! Breakfast is ready!" My Aunt says gently from the second floor up to my room.
"Coming!" I yell back a little more harsh then I wanted to. I sigh again and go down my first flight of stairs and walk past Prim's room to the bathroom that has a light on. I knock on the door not wanting to scare Prim who is braiding her hair in front of the mirror. She turns around and smiles at me.
"Hey Sis!" She chirps in her bright voice making me smile and laugh a little. I join her in front of the mirror and put my hair into a nice style after brushing it (On top).
I grab my makeup bag and start applying some nice but kind of a lot of makeup to my eyes (On top).
I'm thinking about trying out for there cheer leading squad. Apparently they are pretty good. But thats when I notice Prim with a smirk on her face out of the corner of my eye.
"What?" I ask completely clueless onto why she is smirking but feeling kind of defensive.
"Someone is getting all dressed up."
"Yah... It's my first day of school..." I say still confused on where she's going with this conversation.
"Oh! Yah! I'm sure thats the only reason..." Prim says falling into a fit of uncontrollable laughter. All of a sudden I know what shes talking about and my cheeks turn a bright shade of red. No need for any fake blush. I scowl at her and rush out of the room in a mad flurry down the stairs and somehow finding my way into the kitchen where my Aunt is to tell her about how immature Prim is being when she stops me by saying,
"Katniss! Good morning! Peeta's waiting to eat with you and Prim in the dining room!" I close my mouth realizing it's still open and my blush gets even deeper when I hear Prim come in snickering.
"Oh! Sis is gonna..." she doesnt get to finish the sentence and I'm already on her.
"Primrose Everdeen I suggest you shut up right now!" I scream at her.
"I think I'll go join Peeta in the dining room now!" Prim says and starts to run towards the dining room.
"Prim!" I screech as I run after her. When I run in I find her and Peeta having a pleasant conversation about baking.
"Hey Kit-Kat! You look a bit frazzled!" Peeta says making a silly face and laughing. I growl and storm off towards the front door. I grab my backpack and pull open the door with a great amount of force and slam it behind me annoyed with everyone. I am not a morning person.
I stomp down the rock path to the driveway and then stomp down the driveway.
"Someone looks like there throwing a tantrum." Someone says behind me with a chuckle. At first I think there is just one person but I suddenly realize there is two, but one must be a girl who has small feet. It comes with being a hunter I can tell.
I spin around to see who it is. There is a man with bronze, blonde hair and sea green eyes and a lot of muscle with his hand around a small delicate looking girl with fiery red hair that is curled in delicate little twirls and her eyes have a sea green color as well that stand out against her bright green dress.
"Who are you?" I ask directing the question towards the boy.
"Hello to you too. I'm Finnick Odair! But you can call me Tritan if you would like!" Finnick says triumphantly.
"I think Fishboy fits you better." I spit out at him, regretting it immediately after. He pretends to act totally offended by this while the girl just starts to laugh.
"Alright. Fine. What's your name." Finnick says as he gives the girl a hurt look and removes his arm from around her waist as she bends over laughing.
"Katniss. Katniss Everdeen" I say simply.
"Okay Kitty Kat!" I narrow my dull silver eyes at him.
"Anyway! This is Annie Cresta my girlfriend. Most likely your new best friend and that's my car over there with that girl, the one with short black hair sitting in it looking very annoyed. Her names Johanna Mason and I am now offering you a ride. Are you going to take it?" Finnick says simply happy that he could come up with a nickname for me.
I look back at the house. Then back at them. Annie's face looks really hopeful.
"Yeah. Sure. I would rather ride with you guys than them." I finish looking back at my house glaring.
"Cool! Lets go or we will be late for school! You're going to Mockingjay High right?" Finnick says as he grabs Annie's hand and starts to run towards his car dragging her along.
"Uhm. Yah!" I say as I start to run after them towards the car.
"Cool! Everyone get in and buckle up!" I jump into the car right next to the short black haired girl.
"Uh, hello!" I say to the girl trying to be nice.
"Hey Brainless." The girl mutters as she gives me a sideways glance from her phone.
"It's Katniss." I snap back, my mood dampening slightly once again this morning.
"Nice name. I'm Johanna and I think we will get along just fine." Johanna says actually looking at me. We both give each other a smirk. All of a sudden I feel my phone vibrate.
Random # Hey! Where r u? We need 2 get 2 school!
I guess that it's Peeta so I write him in as a contact.
Me: Got a ride from my new friends who r actually nice to me, thanks.
Peeta: What? First what did I do? Second what do you mean new friends?
Me: I mean Finnick, Annie, and Johanna. They are taking me to school. See u later.
I turn my phone on silent and put it in my pocket as we pull into the schools parking lot. I look at the school. Its huge!
"Come on Kitty! We have to introduce everyone to our new Victor!" Finnick squeals like a little kid in a candy shop.
"Victor? " I question.
"Yep! We're the most popular group at school! But don't worry we're not mean unless you're mean. Well Johanna is but the rest of us aren't that mean." Finnick finishes satisfied.
I look at my new friends and at my new school and smile.
Mockingjay High here we come!
