Mockingjay High

Party Part 3

Katniss POV:

   The movie finally ends and I'm completely mortified. It was so scary! I look around to see the other girls basically buried inside of there guys chest as they sit in there laps clinging to them. Except for Johanna and Clove. But they still look quite scared.

  For example Johanna is gripping on to Gales shirt slightly and Clove is sitting in Cato's lap gripping onto his shirt. So safe to say Clove was more scared.

   Poor Annie is sobbing into Finnick's shirt as he rubs her back looking at her stunned most likely because of the movie but sad at seeing his girlfriend upset.

   I feel Peeta shift slightly and I realize that I have crawled into his lap as well and am clinging to his shirt and have managed to snuggle myself real close to him. His arms are wrapped around me protectively.

   I look up at his face and see him looking at me. He smiles slightly but still looks a little jittery from the movie along with everyone else except maybe Cato. Sometimes he's got a sick brain.

   Anyway, I realize we are all just sitting here stunned from the movie so I decide to break it. Jumping out of Peeta's lap and into the middle of the room I shout really loud hoping to scare people a little.

   "Let's play a game!" I clap my hands several times as well. Annie jumps bumping her head into Finnick's and she whimpers softly making Finnick glare at me. Gale jumps as well making Johanna snicker at him and him scowl at me. But other than that there wasn't to much of a reaction which was kind of disappointing. Oh well.

   "What kind of game?" Peeta asks as he seems to be the only one who actually listened to what I had just said during my outburst.

   "I don't know just a game I guess." I mumble as I flop down sitting pretzel legs on the soft carpeted flooring. Peeta nods and the rest of the group seems to have realized what were talking about when Glimmer speaks still holding on to Marvel.

   "We should do karaoke!" Her eyes light up happily at the thought and just as Gale is about to throw in a most likely mean comment Marvel elbows him hard in the ribs. I really don't want to but if it makes Glimmer feel better I feel like I should. I nod.

   "Alright I guess. Finn? Do you have a karaoke machine we could use?" I try to grab Finnick's attention as he is focused on Annie at the moment.

   "Hmm?  Oh yeah of course it's up stairs in the game room." Finnick responds out of his previous focus on Annie. Peeta stands up.

   "Alright lets go people!" He shouts in a kids voice as he pulls me up by my arms so I'm standing. I giggle and then mentally slap myself.

   Everyone but Annie and Finnick run towards the stairs. Just as were about to reach the stairs I run up behind Peeta and jump up on his back wrapping my arms around his shoulders gently and my legs around his waist.

   He looks at me in suprise then smiles and holds onto my thighs to keep me up. We all run up the stairs and then through the first floor to the next flight of stairs and run up them to the second floor where we run down a hallway into the game room.

   I try to jump down off of Peeta's back but he holds me there. He walks to a couch that Glimmer is sitting on and plops me down right next to her laughing. I try to give him a scowl but I'm having a hard time doing so.

   Marvel pulls out a small karaoke machine and then the boys pull a small round table into the middle of the room. Setting the karaoke machine below the table they stretch the microphones cord up to the top of the table with plenty of cord to spare.
