Faith's pov.
It's lunch time and I lay under the tree in the courtyard deep in thought.
Why did I feel like that when Chris said he didn't want me to get hurt?
He's always been by my side even as a new born and I've never felt that before.
It's strange how different he is from the other vampires I've met though. Their sole focus is on blood, it's what they live for but not him. Their eyes are dark red, no sign of life but his are bright red and I can tell there's still light in them.
He's dead but he's more alive then any of them.
Flashback----------------------------------
" Why am I not allowed to go out when mommy and daddy have vamp friends over? "
I ask Chris clutching my teddy bear.
" Their not good people baby girl it's because of their kind. "
I furrow my brows in confusion and tilt my head.
" But you're a vamp and you're nice and kind and you give me candy. "
He smiles the biggest I've ever seen him smile!
" That's because I have more reasons to live then just blood. "
" Like what? "
I ask jumping onto his lap and curling up.
" I still have loved ones I need to protect, "
" Your not going to turn mean like them are you? "
I ask yawning.
" I won't. "
" Promise you won't? "
" I promise baby girl. "
" Good I don't want to be without you you're my best friend. "
I say yawning and drift off to sleep.
End of flashback---------------------------
At those meetings I would sneak glances at those vampires and it confused me because Chris was nothing like them.
