Faith's pov.

The weekend is here again and I've been invited to yet another party by Vanessa. What's with these people and partying?

Me and Chris talk occasionally but not much because he's trying to give me space to think. I know it's hard for him but I do appreciate it.

I'm going through my closet looking for something to wear to the party tonight when I feel wind. I don't even have to turn around to know Chris just ran in at vampire speed.

" I heard you're going to Vanessa's party tonight? "

" Yeah I am are you going to be there?"

" Yes but only to watch over you, I won't interfere I just want to make sure he doesn't try anything while your there. "

" Are you ever carefree? "

I ask teasingly.

" No not really. "

" Well you need to be. I've never seen you do something just because you enjoy it everything you do is for some serious reason you need to have a little fun. "

" Says the antisocial girl. "

" I'm not antisocial I'm just awkward. "

I tell him and he laughs.

" How are you awkward? You're never awkward around me. "

" I've known you forever I'm awkward with new people. I'm the only human around here so that doesn't help either. I feel like every where I go I have to keep my guard up because I'm weaker then everyone else and it sucks to say the least. "

" Faith you don't have to keep your guard up because it's my job to protect you and it's not just because of your mom. Your my best friend and my beloved no matter what happens, even if you reject me I'm still going to be here for you and I'm still going to protect you. "

His words make my heart swell and I open my mouth to say something when suddenly the door burst open and I get shot in the eye with a nerf gun.

" ATTACK!!!! "

I hear my brother tell his friends who also have nerf guns. Out of no where one of his friends jumps onto Chris's back and his other friend tackles me onto the bed pinning me down.

I look at him and my eyes grow wide and so do his.

" Sam? "

I ask.

" Faith? "

" Uh dude we won you can stop now you look like your trying to make baby's with my sister. "

TJ says and Sam quickly jumps back both of us turning red from embarrassment.

" You two know each other? "

Chris ask confused.

" Yeah. "

Is all I say.
