Chapter 9: Somethings Off

Faith's pov.

I get home and I'm surprised to see that my parents are here. Yes they live here but they are basically just here in the morning and late at night.

" Um is everything ok? "

I ask them.

" Yes we just...don't have any duty's to attend to today. "

My mom says looking at my dad. I can literally see the nervousness in this room, something is definitely off.

" Ok what's going on? First Chris isn't around and now suddenly you two are something is going on what is it? "

I ask eyeing them skeptically. My mom sighs.

" Honey we love you but some things are best kept a secret until needed for you to know. We promise if things get worse we will explain. "

" But- "

" Faith listen to your mom you know all we want is what's best for you and to protect you. "

My dad tells me and I huff defeated. Mom is the explaining one and dad is the stern, protective one.

Then there's my brother who is just plain weird.

I walk into my room once again seeing that Chris is gone and I lay down on my bed annoyed by the silence that is suppose to be filled with Chris's laughter.

I know Chris is apart of the secret my parents are keeping from me but trying to get a secret out of Chris is impossible.

Taylor's pov. ( Faith's mom )-----------

" She's getting suspicious Jake what are we going to do if she starts digging for clues? "

I ask.

" The best thing we can do is be here for her. I doubt she will start looking for anything but if she finds out then we need to explain why we kept it from her. "

" I just don't want her to get hurt like I did. You know how much more fragile she is compared to everyone else she wouldn't be able to go threw that kind of pain. "

I say tearing up. Jake pulls me over to him kissing me.

" It's okay because she won't have to. She has me, you, TJ, and Chris to protect her and if things get worse we will get my whole pack involved. I'm not letting anyone hurt our daughter I can assure of that. "

I nuzzle into Jakes neck hoping what he's saying is true. I know everyone is going to do their best to protect Faith but what if that's not good enough?

After all what we're up against is anything but small.
