I've only been home for an hour. I was exhausted but not too tired to play with Summer. I held on my knees blowing raspberries on her cheeks. She was supposed to be laughing by now. So I was working hard for the giggles. The doorbell rang.
"Coming!" I shouted, placing summer on my hip. They kept ringing obnoxiously until I opened it. A blond haired tall skinny girl with blue eyes stood impatiently. Wearing a skimpy black cocktail dress with a plunging neckline. She was practically barely dressed.
"Can I help you?" I asked. She looked me up and down carefully with a disgusted look on her face. "I'm sorry but I think you have the wrong house." I explained.
"No, this is Luke's house." She explained.
"Oh is it now?" I responded.
"Who are you?" She asked us with a hostile edge to her voice.
"LUKE." I called him downstairs. "Oh, I'm his wife." I lied. "One moment please." I said while slamming the door in her face. Luke ran down the stairs as I stood there with Summer in my arms.
"I had no idea you were sending a stripper gram to yourself." I laughed.
"Be nice, her name is May." He explained.
"More Like May-be she should put some clothes on." I laughed at my own joke. He picked up fresh flowers in a vase that I couldn't find time to unwrap or even water.
"Hey, those are mine." I protested. He opened the door and held out the flowers to her.
"You, ready to go?" He asked. She accepted the flowers and looked at him like she was about to rip him a new one. She held the flowers above her head and started to swat him with the bouquet.
"YOU HAVE A WIFE AND A BABY! WHAT A SCUMBAG!" She yelled at him infuriatingly. She continued to hit him until the last flower fell on the floor. She turned around and stomped all the way to her car.
"DON'T EVER CALL ME AGAN!." She demanded.
"Come again!" I yelled encouragingly with a pleasant grin on my face. He looked at me in disbelief.
"Psychos huh?" I smiled, biting my lip.
"Unbelievable, I was so careful, no strings and no unprotected sex and I still ended up with a girl and a kid!" He sighed. "Effective one night stand repellent." He plopped down on the couch and watched tv with a depressed look on his face. Summer and I peeked out the window to see if she drove off. The car was gone.
"Did you see that Summer? If you ever dress like that I will ground you till you're ninety." I whispered sternly as she giggled.
"Oh my God! She laughed!" I squealed.
"She what!" Luke bolted back to the front door.
"I swear she laughed." I looked at Summer adoringly.
"Do what you did again." He gestured.
"Dress like that I'll ground you're ninety." Silence, absolutely dead silence. Summer looked at us awestruck but nothing.
"Damn it. I missed it!" Luke visibly deflated. As I joined him on the couch.
"What are you watching anyway?" I asked setting Summer in my lap as she played with her rattle.
"Final destination 2." Leaning back, placing his arm on the sofa behind me.
"Wait, isn't that the one with the..." As if on queue the log went through the police car as I jumped and hissed.
"Ooo shit!" Luke shouted as he fumbled for the remote. I covered Summer's eyes. The scene played on TV as it got significantly worse, the motorcyclist getting mauled by his own bike.
"Omg turn it off!" I shouted.
"I'm trying!" Frantically Luke turned off the TV and Summer giggled again.
He turned to me in horror.
"Are we raising a sadist?" He panted as Summer continued to giggle. I dropped my head back to the couch and groaned.
