"Mom please stopping yanking on my hair so hard." I told her as she moved the comb through my hair.
"I'm not trying to Ruby." She said removing the comb as she began braiding my hair. I bit my lip as I looked down sitting in the wooden chair with a fur draped over. My mom stood behind me braiding my brunette hair as the sun caught the glints of red in it.
"What's so important that you are braiding my hair?" I asked playing with the red cloak I had draped around my shoulders.
She looked at me as dad walked in through the door.
"Are you two almost ready?" He asked and my mom nodded as she finished the braid and stood up with a smile. But I could tell it was a sad and forced one.
"We are meeting with the king so get your things because we are leaving now."
With that she walked out the door as I watched her leave before taking a deep breath. Now or never I guess.
