Even with spring right around the corner, the weather didn't seem to agree. The end of February marked another special day for me, namely the last day where I had absolutely nothing scheduled.

Tomorrow, I had set a daylong meeting with Maddie from Gleam and she would help me sort out my future schedule. I would have to drop certain possible projects or at the very least push them back. I might also have to take another break from university to pursue YouTube and blogging full time.

Though just thinking that made my stomach drop. I knew plenty of my friends hadn't gone to university and was now doing YouTube very successfully but I like the safety net university provided. In a creative business like YouTube, you never knew if it would all go away some day. People like Nate didn't worry about that because he was so good at living in the moment but I didn't like not knowing where I was headed in life.

"Guess what," Nate said and yawned as he walked into our kitchen barefoot and sleepy-eyed.

"What?" I asked in a chippy voice. I was in a good mood this morning.

"I've cleared my whole schedule for today," he said and sipped on the freshly brewed coffee I had made for him.

"Wait?" I exclaimed and almost fell out of my chair. Nate never took a day off, I assumed he'd still be daily vlogging as he didn't count that as work, but then he'd still have editing to do, meetings to attend or people to talk to.

"Yes, the entire day. It's the 29th of February, which is a date doesn't really exist, so I figured I shouldn't have any real plans. I'm not vlogging it either."

Now, that was even more surprising. In all the time I had known Nate I had never known him to skip a day of daily vlogging. He loved it dearly.

Then I realised what he was doing. He was doing that for me. He wanted to give me a day of his undivided attention but I could never ask him to do that.

"Why are you so quiet? Aren't you happy we can spend the whole day together?" he asked, his voice unsure. He planted a kiss on top of my head.

"Yes," I said. "But you can't stop vlogging. You love having your day documented and I know I haven't been in any of them since my collapse but if we're having a fun day I want something too look back on too."

"Even after all this time, you're full of surprises, Abbs," Nate said and caught me by surprise when he swept up from my chair and into his arms.

"Nate, put me down," I said and playfully hit his chest.

"What is the magic gesture?" he asked.

I rolled my eyes but pressed my lips to his. How was it possible that he could be an idiot and a charmer at the same time?

"Now, what do we want to do on our leap day?" Nate asked.

"I don't know," I shrugged.

"Hmm," Nate hummed. "What about a lazy day? We can go down to the shop and get ice-cream and sweets and then just cuddle up to films all day."

"That sounds amazing," I said. "Any day I can stay in my PJ all day, is a good day."

"Then it's a deal."

"Also Nate, I know I've mentioned it before but I feel like I still need to apologize for snapping at you in the hospital. This week off has been a blessing and made me get a great perspective on things."

"No need for apologises here, love. You've told me plenty of times and I know you didn't mean it. Hell, I'm usually the one running my mouth."

"No, you're not but thanks for making me feel better," I said. "I was actually considering something that I wanted your opinion on."
