I took a deep breath. It was the 1st of September and the time had just gone 5 PM. It was officially time for everything to go live. All my "social skins" would change to moment the clock struck 5 PM to fit the rebrand, courtesy of a technician Gleam hired. I was launching so many things.
I was in the living room, sitting on the sofa with Nate, Emma and Megan beside me, and Patch at our feet, wagging his tail expectantly. He had no clue what was going on.
"What are you waiting for? Hit refresh! I want to see," Emma exclaimed and leaned in over me and refreshed the page for my blog, which was now much more of an elaborate website. On the front page, it was not just my compilation of blog posts anymore. It was so many more things but still Emma clicked as the new blog post as the first thing.
She swiped the laptop off the coffee table and pulled it into her lap as her and Megan excitedly started reading. I hadn't allowed anyone but Nate to read the post and the two of them only had a general idea about the launch.
Nate reached over and intertwined our fingers as he got out his phone with the other hand. Undoubtedly, our Twitter timelines were going crazy. I tried to peak over as my sister and best friend read my blog post.
Dear readers,
I owe you an explanation. As you might have noticed, all of my social skins and my links have changed to something new. I've been working on something all summer and at this very moment it has launched.
This space, from when it was just my personal website to post photos on, started it all. Soon enough, it turned into a blog and slowly but surely followed along other social media, like Twitter and Instagram. Exactly 8 months ago, I also launched a YouTube channel and now I have more exciting things to share with you; a rebranding.
I'm rebranding to have a more uniform look of my content but that does not mean I'm leaving this space behind. It's always been my first project and my way of escape before I knew it could grow into a career. It will always stay close to my heart.
You've probably already noticed the new name but let me introduce you formally to:
Purely Clover Simplicity
On a whim, I picked the name puresimplephotos as my domain name back in the day because I liked the saying "pure & simple". I've become so attached to the phrase over the years that I couldn't quite part with it but I've transformed it to fit the person and the place in my life I am right now.
I'm not the shy girl hiding behind the camera anymore but I still have the same values and approach that initially drew me to those words. We've simply evolved together and changed for the better.
Purely: "to act nobly, speak purely, and think charitably"
Simplicity: "the quality or condition of being easy to understand or do"
In all my endeavours, I aim to act purely and charitably and aim for simplicity in a world that gets too complicated. My content on this blog and on my channel should always aim to radiate kindness and compassion and to bring joy while tackling complex issues and boiling them down, so they are understandable.
But the rebranding isn't all that's happening. You're reading this on my blog, so I suggest you take a look on the tab called SHOP. In there, you will find my two new projects!
The first is my new A3 posters, which are screen-prints of the favourite photographs I've taken with original quotes imprinted onto them. Read more here.
