Raven
The hall was a flurry of action.
Storm, Torrent and Jasper were getting ready, all in their usual attires: Storm looking gorgeous in green and beige, Torrent staying brown and red, and Jasper going for yellow and brown. Jasper was entirely insane about yellow. Everything in his room was yellow and brown. It was sort of weird but meh, he's Jasper. He's weird.
Sparrow was somewhere over the rainbow, who knows where she was. She now had the tendency to disappear now and again when she felt like it, and she's the only one that doesn't rely on Fletcher for transport in short distances. She cycles to places in her black and green bike or runs. I had no idea where she could be, but I knew that Storm knew, so I was cool.
I packed my gun into my pocket and sheaved a few knives in the hidden ones in my leather jacket. My spare gun was hidden in my boots and my Necromancer amulet hung from my neck. An amulet wasn't really one of the main items they would give a Necromancer-in-training, but since my teacher was Valkyrie Cain herself, she let it pass.
"In your daydreams, Raven?" Sparrow's voice rang from behind me. I didn't even know what accent it was, over all these years. My voice was also tainted with a British accent, though not as heavy as Tanith and Fletcher, but Sparrow's was more of a mix of American and British accented. Maybe neither. "If you don't snap out of it we're gonna have to explain to Tanith why you went missing."
I turned to see Alexandria standing behind me in an entirely new outfit. She wore a lime-green wind breaker and a classic Sparrow-styled dark blue shirt-hoodie, with black pants. Her boots were still the same, and now an amulet rested on her chest. I never asked when she got it, but when she took it off, her magic became sucky. Like, legit sucky. It was obvious her amulet helped her use her magic. Her long waves of black hair were tied up in a ponytail, and her unnerving emerald eyes were fixed on me.
"Okay then, Sparrow." I said, "Where's Fletcher?"
She sighed. "We can't always rely on Fletcher you know? I'm hitching a ride on Tanith's motorbike. You're riding with Valkyrie and Skulduggery on the Bentley and the other three are on Ghastly's van with Fletcher and Ghastly."
"What?" I groaned. "You get to go on Tanith's motorbike? Not fair? And since when did you change your outfit?"
"A new set from Ghastly. He says it fits me better ever since my eyes turned green. " she smiled. "I still don't like him, but at least this set makes me feel better. Hurry up Moonglass. I don't want to..."
"Yes I know Lexi."I interrupted. "Let's just get going shall we?"
We soon arrived in Dublin after a ride on the Bentley. Sparrow had a huge grin plastered on her face and Storm had those sapphire blue eyes glancing around again. Ugh. She always made us feel so nervous.
"From what I can feel, Silas 2 is in the streets. I'm not really an expert on these streets so we'll have to split up." she said.
"That's okay. I'll be with Ghastly, Valkyrie with Fletcher, Tanith with Chrysanthemum, Torrent with Jasper and the Birds together." Skulduggery said.
Sparrow and I both glared at Skulduggery. He shrugged back and continued to speak. "I'm calling you guys by your group names so NO complaining. Low Storm you'll be searching the first 3 blocks. Fletcherie 4-6, Torper 7-9, Birds 10-12 and us DMU will be searching 13-15."
"What does DMU stand for?" I asked.
"Dead Men Unit." he replied with accustomed ease.
"Okay, apart from your horrible group names and SHIPPING ME WITH FLETCHER, it's NOT FUNNY, it's a good plan." replied Valkyrie. "Ready to go?"
"After you, Miss Cain." Fletcher said with a smirk. The moment Valkyrie playfully shoved him, they disappeared. Ghastly and Skulduggery soon followed, heading towards the 13th block, and Torrent flew him and Jasper over to the 7th block.
Storm winked at us. "Meet you at the other side, ladies." she said, "May the unluckiest kid kill Nadir."
Me and Sparrow started to jog towards 10th Avenue. Shoppers were freely walking around, and since it was finally term break for kids, most people had one week holidays before going back to school. This means that is we met Silas Nadir, we had to draw him out of the crowds to protect the mortals. I spotted a brown-haired man wearing a cap, trying to stay inconspicuously in the shadows.
I had to note the term trying.
It was obvious that he was out of place and kept glancing around. He was up on his guard and looked like he was about to disappear. I looked around for Sparrow to tell her, only to see that she had already walked towards Silas Nadir.
"Hello! Could I ask where is the nearest route to Haggard is?" Alexandria was using her extra chirpy voice.
The man's voice was rough. "Sorry, I don't know where that it either. I'm not from around here. What's your name, girl?"
"Violet Walkers!"she said, as I walked over, "And this is my best friend Kathryn Kensworth. We're from America."
"Hello, nice to meet you Violet. My name is Silas. Silas Nadir." Silas 2 said. "I know that sounds like a strange name, but where I'm from, it's a perfectly normal name."
"We know." Alexandria had one of her swords behind his neck, unknown to him. "and Silas, I think it would be a shame if you died in a separate dimension to your home one, but I have been ordered by Lord Vile himself that you are to be eliminated. Good bye, Mr Nadir."
She swung her sword at lightning speed, before Silas 2 could even register her words. Silas 2 glimmered as he died and disappeared, probably back into Dublin-inside-the-wall. I glanced at Alexandria, whose stone cold features showed no expression. Damn, she could be a murderer.
I glanced at her again.
She was gone.
