Marinette woke up to a fresh Monday breeze .
Getting up and finished her usual morning routine, Marinette grabbed her backpack and duffel bag, running down stairs.
"Marinette! Your friend's here to see you!" Her mother called from below.
Marinette thought it was Alya here to walk with her, but all she saw was the cat without his hood.
"Mornin' Mari," Adrien smiled.
Marinette hummed in response, "What are you doing here?"
"I forgot my jacket when I came here last night," he answered, "And there it is."
Picking and slipping his black cat jacket sleeves, her mother asked, "Adrien! Would you like to stay for breakfast?"
[A/N: Me: Would you like to stay forever??" Okay okay back to the AU]
"I wouldn't mind, Mrs. Cheng, thank you." Adrien pulled a chair next to where Marinette was sitting.
Munching down breakfast, Marinette decided it was time to go.
"I'll see you later, Mom," she kissed her on the cheek and grabbed Adrien's arm, "let's go."
---
"Really? You're replacing one of our best dancers with cat boy there?" Jackson [Random character I made up] complained.
"I promise you," Marinette assured them, "Adrien's a great dancer. You'll see him later afternoon at the studio."
"Cmon, Marinette, daddy's boy can barely bust a move if he needed too."
Marinette balled her fists beside her, and gritted her teeth, "Listen, Jackie, as captain, we needed a replacement asap. Now shut your pie hole, I'll see you later."
Jackson scrunched his nose and stormed off, leaving Marinette starting to relax.
Adrien came up to her and held a hand on her shoulder. "What was that about?"
"The usual, never mind that," Marinette sighed, "You're coming to practice, right?"
"Anything for you, Princess," Adrien chuckled and headed off to class.
"Idjit." Marinette half smiled, walking off to her own.
---
The last bell rang, Marinette walked out of the room, already seeing Adrien with his duffel bag at the exit. "Ready to go, Mari?" holding his hand out for her to reach.
Unexpectedly, she took it, "Ready when you are."
They walked off together turning blocks and crossed streets.
While walking near an alley on the sidewalk, Tikki barked, running towards Marinette.
"Tikki!" Adrien held his arms out for her, but she ran under his legs and into Marinette's instead.
Marinette laughed as Tikki began to lick her face, setting her down to walk along beside her.
"I thought Tikki liked me," Adrien whined.
Marinette took out a key to get in the studio, unlocking it. "Maybe next time she sits on your lap, give me a howl...or meow."
She opened the door where she sees half her dance team, about six people.
"Look what the cat dragged in," Adrien smirked, glaring at Jackson, who made a sour face at him.
Marinette patted him on the chest, "Kitty, play nice. Jackson's not a yarn, so don't pull his strings." She winked and went off to the change room.
Coming out in her usual ladybug top and sweats, she watched Adrien come out with his own sweats and tank top, covered by his cat jacket, hood up.
"Well, bugaboo, we got practice, don't we?" He smirked again.
Everyone else was here, all twelve of them.
"Okay," Marinette started, "Competition against the Puppeteers. No biggee. Start warmups, Team B spread at the back, A at the front. Chat, you're with me."
She turned on the music, fresh beats started filling the room. Staring at the mirror, Marinette watches her teams warm up, and her Chat trying to keep up with them.
After ten minutes of that, she tells everyone to take five.
"My lady," Adrien breathed heavily, "Maybe you and your team should slow down. This cat doesn't have nine lives."
"Cmon, Chat, you'll do fine." Marinette encouraged. "We're starting the routine. We practiced that. Team B's in the back, A at the front--"
"Alright, which team am I in?" Chat wondered.
"You're swinging for mine." Marinette played and raised her voice for everyone to hear, "Alright, ladies, break time over."
Turning the music back on, they began their routine for the competition, with Adrien and Marinette at the center.
---
"That wasn't so hard, my lady." Chat meowed, petting Tikki on her head. "Who's gonna be the one to dance with you at the competition?"
Marinette stared at him dumbfounded. "You are, silly kitty."
Adrien gaped at her. "What? I thought I was just practicing for you!"
"You are, practicing for me for the competition, that's all. It's just dancing, Chat, you'll nail it."
Adrien hesitated. "But--"
"Sorry to interrupt you two lovebugs," Jackson walked up, "But Mar, we better get going; it's almost sundown. Need a ride?" He blushed.
He blushed.
"Erm, no merci, Jack," Marinette stuttered, "Chat and I will stay a bit longer."
"Then I'll wait 'til you're done," Jackson swirled his car keys with his hand.
Adrien took a step forward, "Sorry, ya jick [A/N: That's what Domics call jock dicks.], "but Mari already has a ride for tonight," he winked.
Marinette smiled, and rolled her eyes, "Go home, Jackson."
Jackson grunted at Adrien and sighed, walking out of the studio.
"Yeesh," Marinette scratched the back of her head, "I'd say Jackson's got a little thing for me."
Adrien's face started to turn to a little pinkish. "You think?"
Marinette smiled at him. Adrien tries to look away, which confused her.
"Anyways," he whispered, "I think I got the cat in the bag, how about we hit a night at the town as a little treat?"
Marinette hesitated, but then nodded. "You're paying," she laughed.
