Oblivious AU Pt 5

Adrien was melting on the inside.

He didn't expect her to say yes, but he got it. Watching her go in and come out of the room, Marinette came out with her ladybug sweater and black jeggings.

The two walked out together into the night.

"So, is this a date?" Adrien leaned his face closer to his lady's, but she pushed him away.

"Look, let's go to Quickly's," Marinette pointed towards her favorite milk tea place. [I am Asian, and therefore I shall include the wonders of milk tea!]

"Alright," Adrien nodded, taking her hand and running across the street towards Quickly's.

The line was long, but the two enjoyed the other's company. Marinette played with Adrien's cat ears on his hoodie, and he kept looking at her lovingly without her noticing.

"Hi, welcome to Quickly's, what can I get the couple?" The cashier asked politely.

"O-oh, we're n-not a couple," Marinette stammered. Adrien put an arm around her and smiled. "Remember, I'm paying, right?"

She nodded, and Adrien ordered, "We'll get two bubble tea, both with boba."

"Two bubble milk tea, aaand boba," the cashier repeated, typing in the register, "Anything else?"

"That's all," Marinette answered. Adrien paid the lady and sat down the nearest table with high chairs.

Marinette playfully thumped the back of his head. "What was that for?"

He kept one eye open and snickered. "What was what for?"

She rolled her eyes. "Why'd you put your arm around me when she said couple?"

"Maybe I enjoy having you in my arms, my lady." He gave his puppy (or kitty) eyes, watching hers reflect on his own.

"126!" Their number called as Adrien went up and grabbed the two bubble tea.

"Let's hit the city," Marinette smiled, this time she took Adrien's hand and pulled him along with herself, their bubble tea in either hands.

--- walla walla bing bang ---

Marinette and Adrien strolled down the streets of Paris.

"Let's talk, it's been a while since we actually talked." Marinette sipped her bubble tea down. Her other hand was stuffed in the pocket of her hoodie, and Adrien has his hand in his pocket. "What do you wanna talk about?"

"How's it going with...uh..Lila?" She asked nervously, pulling her hood on her head.

Chat choked on his bubble tea. "Lila?! What makes you think I have a thing with Lila??"

"It's just the way you guys are, I guess. When she talks to you, you're always kinda nervous, maybe?" Marinette tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear. "And I overheard Nino and Alya teasing about someone your in love with or something."

Adrien shook his head. "It's not Lila, sure she's flirty, I guess. But she's not..."

He paused, wondering if this was the time to tell her. Tell her he's been in love with Marinette for three years. Marinette looked up from his silence, confused, "She's not what?"
