The room was filled with darkness, the large screen lighting up everyone's faces. As soon as the film started, a group of young girls arrived late, and sat directly in from of Dan and I. They had already started bickering, and obnoxiously laughing at every line in the film. All I could concentrate on was the girls in front of us. I tried to block them out, but somehow, my eyes always averted towards noise.

I looked over at Dan, who was already looking at me, studying my facial expression of annoyance. Time appeared to be going in slow motion as he leaned forward, pressing his finger against his lips. A loud shush came from his mouth, and silence stuck the seats in front of us. My eyes widened in embarrassment.

I pulled my knees to my chest in my seat, pulling up my hoodie.

"Dan! I don't know you, I don't know you!" I whispered lightly. He smiled and put his hand on mine, calming me. One of the girls looked back, glaring at me. I slipped my hand out from under his, covering my eyes, cringing.
