"You can't be serious."

"I'm completely serious."

"Stop being serious."

"Lighten up, Axin! Come on!"

"No. I don't want to."

"You never want to do anything."

"Axin, as your superior, I order you to go to the beach with Xelia and Olmix."

"But-"

"Too late."

That unfortunate conversation leads us to now, where Olmix is trying to lead me into the water. I, of course, am blatantly refusing. He couldn't even get me into swimming trunks, yet he thinks I'm willing to actually swim? Preposterous.

"Axin, babe, come on! Please, for me?"

"I don't like you, so stop calling me babe, and no." I shoot him a glare, and he goes to prance in the water by himself. Apparently his weird little butterfly eyeliner job is waterproof. And how does he keep his bright purple hair that neat when it's wet?

Rolling my blue eyes, I stay sitting on the awkwardly curved palm tree with the star-shaped fruit I don't know the name of. I know the locals have some weird legend about it, but I don't remember what it is. Something about sharing with someone is sweet?

While Xelia builds a sandcastle and Olmix swims (apparently he has an elaborate tattoo on his back too: butterfly wings), I end up taking a long nap, carefully propped up against the trunk of the palm tree. I don't know why they decided to bring me; I hate sunshine, I hate sand everywhere, and I hate people.

Soon, someone was shaking me awake, but not enough to knock me off the tree. "Axin~! I made smoothies~!"

I sighed and cracked open an eye. "I hate smoothies."

"I hate you being so sour."

"How unfortunate for you."

Olmix stuck out his tongue and handed me a glass filled with what appeared to be a grapefruit smoothie. Then again, it was probably the star-shaped fruits. I took a sip and sighed as the sweet, cool drink slid down my throat. "Not bad."

"Sweet or sour?"

"Sweet? Why?"

Olmix took a sip pf his own drink and laughed. "How ironic!" And then he reminded me of the legend about the star-shaped fruits.

I groaned. "I hate soulmate stories!"
