Danny was pissed. I placed a hand on his shoulder and I felt him relax.
"Welcome to my world." I said sympathetically.
He was glaring at Hunter, who looked just as irritated. He was rubbing his head and then he noticed Danny's intense glare.
"I came to switch sides- I want to help Alexa." Hunter said.
"Then why were you hiding?"
"Because if my friend came to know he wouldn't trust me and it won't serve any purpose."
"So- you're with her?" Danny asked.
"Yeah."
"We're on the same side?" Danny scrunched his nose.
"For Alexa." Hunter said. The liar! Mae would snort at that. I can literally imagine her doing that!
"I need my friends." I whined.
"We're here." Hunter assured me.
"I mean Fran and Mae. I miss them."
"We'll try to be decent substitutes." Hunter said.
"It's not the same."
"Well, I can do anything that Mae can."
"Really Hunter? Don't flatter yourself."
"And you- you were saying something." He gestured towards Danny.
"Yeah- I thought you and me could uh- go out tonight for a movie maybe- but that's if you feel up for it." Bad boy was right.
"Danny- I really don't feel well."
"I understand. So maybe we could watch a movie here?"
"I love watching movies too." Hunter said.
"Uh- sure Hunter."
"What if it's only the two of us?" Danny asked.
"I mean Hunter can always leave."
"Just kidding. I'd hate to ruin a special day for Alexa." Hunter said.
There was a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" I asked.
"Lex! It's me."
"Come in." I said.
Teddy Bear entered with a bag on his shoulders and a phone in his hand.
"Who's this now?" Hunter asked.
"He's Teddy Bear."
"Your boyfriend?"
"Her what?!" He looked up from his phone.
"He's not my boyfriend!" I defended seeing colour rise to Teddy Bear's cheeks.
"I heard you didn't go to school."
"How so?"
"Grandma told me."
"Right mom must have-"
"This is Teddy Bear?" Hunter was shocked.
"Uh huh. Problem?"
"No he's just uh- bigger than I thought he'd be."
"Did you actually expect a cute, fluffy, bear with a pink bow on it? But yeah he's big, he's in college. " I said. Hunter looked horrified. I don't know what it was but looking at his face that way- it was hilarious.
"I got your text last night- I should probably ignore it since you sent it by mistake but Alexa that's not-"
"Please forget you got that text, nothing happened."
