a/n: what's your favorite story of mine? i'm curious ;)
September 15, 4:21 pm.
nam seolhee.
A few days passed since I started to get more and more messages on rocks everyday even if I haven't sent letters to the sea.
Jungkook started to mind his own business a lot more now and it's pretty much a relief for me. It's all because at the first place, I really don't want anyone to get involved with my life. It's a simple thing, it's either I get hurt in the end or it's them. It's all most likely the first option.
Classes for today ended in a blur with surprisingly no homework yet I still want to return home as early as possible, even though I know my mom can do anything to me once I step foot in the household.
I walked to the bike rack and started to find my bike first. Once I found it, I sauntered towards it with no hesitation. I landed my hands on it and slowly unlocked it from its place, subsequently walking it out from the rack. I started to ride on it and pedalled slowly.
I memorized the path on the way from school to home, so I didn't hesitate to shut my exhausted eyes for a while and pedalled in silence.
"Hey," I then heard a familiar male's voice ask me from behind. I heard moving bike sounds in sync with mine so I turned my head to the right. I was a bit surprised to see Jungkook on a bike smiling at me.
"Hello Seolhee~" I felt chills down my spine as he sang my name.
He hasn't been talking to me so it felt very new since I also don't know the reason why he doesn't. But what also caught my eye is that he's riding on a bike too, which puzzles me since I don't really think he has one.
I mean, a few days ago, he's been chasing me with his own human speed to catch up with my bike's soeed,
"You have a bike?" Instead of saying hello, I asked a question.
He chuckled and nodded, "Yes." He says, landing his eyes on his bike and caressed it a bit.
"It's new, you know? I actually bought it just so that I could catch up with your speed. I know that somehow you'll end up getting further away from me. To think about it, you make me question a lot of things. Like, why do you hate me so much?" He then asked. Judging by the tone of his voice, I knew he was serious.
"Well, why are you interested in me so much then?" I didn't answer and instead shot back another question. He silenced for a moment.
"I don't know," he started, "I just find you interesting. And also somehow, I think I took a small liking in you." he continued, making me stop biking for a moment. I stepped my foot down on the ground and turned my head at him who also stopped biking.
"Can you not?" I asked him. Instead of being flustered at what he said, I'm getting more pissed.
"What?"
"Can you not get involved with me? It's getting a little too annoying. If you want to get involved with the pretty dramatic shit I'm going through, then get ready since I might hurt you, break you, and yell at you to go fuck yourself. So I completely suggest you to not even try." I said in a serious tone, but it seems like he took what I said too lightly and laughed.
"I don't care. I chose to be friends with you Seolhee, and I'll do whatever it takes for you to open up more to me. I'm also hoping that as time progresses I'll get to understand why you're the way you are to me right now." He told me and gave me a toothy smile.
I was lost in his eyes for a second but I quickly shook my weird thoughts away and buried them at the back of my head. I could see it in his eyes how he actually looks like he cares about me.
It's weird because what I'm seeing in his eyes right now weren't actually evident in people who pretended to care about me before.
Is this real? How could someone genuinely care about me?
No, it can't be.
"Suit yourself, Jeon Jungkook, my life is already hell the way it is. I don't want you in my life, okay?" I said, trying to be as patient as possible.
"Well, I know where your life will be better." He then told me and gave me a wink, "With me, Nam Seolhee."
I want to kick him but I can't be bothered.

September 18, 4:49 pm
I slowly trudged my way towards the exit of the school after the classes ended. My neck and my back were aching because of physical activity and lots of stressing school work. I don't want to go home.
I just want to sleep here in school because obviously, I can say that school is alot safer than that hellhole I refer to as my home.
Before getting my bike, I slowly walked towards the vending machine and stood in front of it, scanning all the food and drinks in each row from top to bottom. I can't seem to decide which snack do I crave for at this time, but it's just that I really don't want to go home yet.
I have no energy to get yelled at and possibly get beaten up by my psychotic mom.
I also have no time sneak in her room and steal her makeup just to conceal my scars.
After deciding that I wanted to get some strawberry milk, I was about to start inserting the coin in the small slit, but suddenly a swift movement of a person prevented me of doing so. This unknown person covered my mouth completely, immediately dragging me to the girls' restroom.
I was about to let out a muffled scream for help until I found out that this person covering my mouth is Jinshil, making me internally sigh in relief.
She then pushed me against the wall, her right hand still covering my mouth and her left finger was pressed against her lips. "Shh." She hushed.
She started to whisper. "Seolhee, Donggyu is outside. He's looking for you." She said in a soft, raspy voice, making my eyes widen in panic. I quickly diverted my eyes outside the female's restroom but she moved my face to look at her.
"Don't look now. Look, I've overheard him telling someone what he wants to do to you. It's anything but good, alright? Right now, I don't think he has noticed that I've brought you here. You have no option but to run right away after I release you, alright? If you stay here a little longer, he'll find you." She continued to explain, overwhelming me a little.
What does she know about Donggyu and I?
"Let me count one to three, okay? After the count, you'll leave and run as fast as you can." She started. Panic started to rise further in my chest and started to let out alarming muffled screams throught her palm, wanting to tell her that I'm not ready.
But she continued to count.
"One... Two..." She said and took a deep breath. "Three."
"Live, Nam Seolhee." Was all she said before removing her hand away from my mouth, causing me to run out of the restroom then to the corridor again, trying to reach out to the exit of building.
I then heard running footsteps syncing with mine, but then the footsteps get closer and louder. I panicked more and started to run at a faster pace. While running, I didn't notice that my shoelaces started to untie a little bit from the running, making me stumble for a moment.
Before I even make a move, a male's hand started to cover my mouth from behind, his other hand then gripping on my forearm.
"Gotcha," The familar voice chuckles darkly, "But I must say, Jinshil did well in telling you what to do."

a/n: any views on jinshil changing or anything? i'm lowkey hoping you didn't misunderstand her in this chapter though.
