Silence is a strange thing, in different circumstances it can be a great thing, truly blissful, a thing of great joy and relaxation. Other times it can be terrible a truly terrifying experience. For Samth silence was terrible, she would not open her eyes, she could not even hear a thing. The thought ran through her head. Am I dead? She wondered this; it took a great amount of inner strength for her to open her big blue eyes. She was still being held in the air, she could still not make out the face of the man holding her. His hand was centimeters away from her heart. Espex was a few meters back on his legs. Blood still staining his body. She wondered why the man stopped; she also wondered why everything was silent. What could have caused this? Then she noticed that everyone in the great hall was also frozen. Yet they all stood and stared at Espex. A sudden pop exploded from Samth’s ears and sound came back to her. Then true fear grabbed her. An unholy feeling of fear wrapped its self around Samth, she could even picture it, no see it. A skeleton wrapped around her body and its hands firmly in her rib cage. What was this? She wondered, magic?

“I feel it… Fear.” The hooded man’s voice was shaky. He let his hand ease off Samth’s throat and she fell to the wooden ground with a thud. He turned towards Espex. ”What a sensation. A lord’s presence.”

Espex just stood silent with his face down, his long purple hair dangling down over his face. The air around him was heavy; the wooden floor was creaking and bending trying to escape. The muscles on Espex torso were moving back and forth, ripping and reforming, veins coming to the surface then disappearing. His very body was transforming, becoming stronger with each turn of the clock. Raising his face up Espex looked at his opponent.

“You truly are a demon.”

Samth looked up at Espex, his eyes white, no pupils. She watched his body distort and she felt the pressure he was excreting. “Espex?” the only words she could muster.

Fure stood looking at her grandchild and knew that she was in danger, they all were.

Opening his mouth steam came pouring out, his fanged teeth larger and sharper than usual, and his face gone to madness.

Wasting no time the hooded man shot forth, he however was met by Espex. Both clashed fists causing a shockwave.

“This isn’t human.” Samth said picking up a sleeping Grix.

“No it isn’t girl, I need you to run.” Fear in Fure’s voice. “Asura get the children out!”

Espex and man fought on par with each other, kicking, dodging and punching into each other continuously while children and teenagers ran out the great hall, they closed the hall door behind them to close of the adults and demons.

“Espex has broken the spell Tate put on him, he has lost himself. He no longer see’s friend from foe. Run girl! Before he kills you!”

Samth just kneeled on the ground stunned. “No Espex knows me!”

“Child he does not! He has gone into berserker rage! Years of blood lust all at once, we don’t even know if he can control himself.”

Fure looked into the bright eyes of Samth the girl known as Angelic. “Then I shall stop him.” Determination oozed out of Samth, Fure looked at her and smiled.

“He picked a good one.”

The hooded man was being pushed back by Espex and his rage and lust. Each never giving quarter, a punch for a punch and kick for kick. The Asura onlookers couldn’t believe such a fight was happening. The last time two people this powerful fought the legend of the Asura was being made as they thought the first mage, Skov. The hooded man crunched Espex in his bare ribs and the response he got frightened him as well as the viewers, Espex burst into hysterical laughter.

“Fun…. This is fun!” A large grin crossed his face, his fangs exposed, and his long hair swaying and his purple eyes glowing so bright they could be candles. “Fun.”

Espex speed increased and he shot behind the man and grabbed his shoulder, trying to get free the man tried to spin but was met with a knee to the spine. A scream followed but the man never hit the ground he simply ran forward and spun around looking at Espex.

“Fun… Don’t spoil it now!” Espex words where just madness.

“Madness look at yourself. Do you know what you are doing?” the man protested

“Fun… Don’t spoil this fight, let my lust boil over it’s been so long”

“So be it.” The man burst forth once again, this time aiming his hands like daggers or swords, he swung his hand down clipping Espex on his chest. Blood burst forth.

“Fun…”

He continued to swipe and stab and Espex only ever managing to clip him, this continued for a while, each cut seemed to make Espex more and more excited. As the man went for Espex head, he missed and Espex grabbed the man’s hood and threw a fist forward. It collided with whatever was underneath, a spray of blood shot forth and a scream followed. He hit the old wooden floor with a thud.

“Don’t die yet. I haven’t gotten bored.” This Espex was pure evil, only driven by combat, only wanting the thrill of the fight. This Espex was not the one Samth wanted to follow or ever meet. His smile still plastered across his red face, demonic in looks and sound as he chuckled away to himself.

“I… I… Concede.” The man said on the floor.

Espex looked down on his defeated opponent and with a smirk and laugh. “No.”

Asura in the hall all looked at each other; they knew what was going to happen. The Lords word was law. If the Lord said no then no was the answer.

“Stop this Espex! He has given up!” Samth’s voice preaching out to Espex.

He simply turned and smiled at her, his eyes still white. “No.”
