The classes were over and as I was heading to where the buses are somebody held me by the waist and started to lift me up and placed me in their shoulders.
"what the? Put me down! Who are you? Put me down this instant!"
"I'm your friend. Calm down Hailey! It isn't easy carrying you like this."
He then put me down.
"You could have talked to me instead of carrying me in your shoulders like that!"
"I'm sorry. I thought you wouldn't talk to me because of what I said earlier outside the cafeteria."
"I told you I don't need a friend."
"But you do need a ride home, right?"
"No. I can take the bus, you can go home now."
"Really? Do you see any school bus here? You do know the classes ended 30 mins ago and all the school buses has left."
"I can walk my house is just..... Around the corner."
"Okay if you say so. See you tomorrow Hailey. I hope you get to your house in no time."
What am I saying!? My house is miles away from this school! Ugh. Now how can I get home? I don't even have enough money to pay for taxi. Good job Hailey you are a genius. Your crush offered you a ride home and you rejected him. Great just great.
"Don't you wanna start walking now? It's getting dark out and you're still stuck on the same spot."
"I'm just thinking okay?"
"Thinking about what? About accepting my offer? Hahaha it's a easy question really"
"Yes."
"Yes what?"
"I'm accepting your offer and I want us to be friends."
"You made the right decision Ms. Hailey. Know let's get you home before your mom gets worried sick."
We arrived at my house after minutes of driving.
"Thanks for the ride Gavin. I hope you get home safe."
"Aren't you going to introduce me to your mom?"
"Maybe next time when we know each other a little more better."
"Okay. Thank you for today Ms. Hailey. I hope you have a lovely evening with your mom."
Then he drove off.
As I went inside the house a smile creep into my face.
