I blinked my eyes slowly at the brightness that came from my bedroom window. I grumpily turned over onto my other side as I tried to re-position myself on my cloud-like bed.
Why does my bed have to be so comfortable? I asked myself as I saw the white clock that hung above my desk. It read 10:15 am. I was quite surprised that no one had woken me up yet, considering that the girls always come over bright and early. I was even more surprised that Gavyn hadn't dumped water on me while I was sleeping.
I threw the blankets off of myself and slowly sat up, observing the bright window with squinting eyes. I took my messy braid out of my hair and shook my head viciously until my hair was a complete and total mess. Pushing my hair out of my face, I stood up and walked into the bathroom. I observed my hair in the large mirror and I laughed at myself while grabbing my purple hairbrush. I brushed my long, black hair thoroughly until I heard my phone ringing from inside of my bedroom.
I groaned as I slowly walked to my desk, where my phone sat.
Levi.
What did he want? Was he going to confess as to why he has been acting weird?
"Hello?" I chirped into the phone.
"Ell, I was wondering if we could talk."
I didn't answer right away as I was a little surprised at his sudden words.
"Come over in like, five minutes?" He asked, waiting for my response.
"Oh, I don't know. I'm going to Avery's house." I lied, hoping that he wouldn't beg me.
"Hmm," He paused, thinking about his next response. "What about later tonight?"
"I can't then either," I paused, looking for an excuse. "I promised Christina that I'd help her pack for her slumber party this weekend." I lied.
It wasn't all lies. Christina really did have a slumber party that she was attending that Friday. But, I never promised her anything.
"Oh, well, then I guess I'll just leave you be. Maybe we can talk some other time." He said with no emotion. "See you around."
And with that, he hung up. I couldn't tell if he was angry at me for denying his requests, or if he was being his normal, rude, self.
I rolled my eyes and continued getting ready.

I walked downstairs and there were no signs of anyone. I was confused.
Of course my dad went back to work and my mom was interviewing the local bakery for her magazine article. But, Gavyn and Christina were supposed to be home, and they weren't.
I decided to look in the garage to see if Gavyn's car was in there. But, not to my surprise, it wasn't. I rolled my eyes and stepped out of the front door to take a look in the driveway; maybe Gavyn didn't feel like parking in the garage. Lo and behold, Gavyn's car wasn't there either.
I slammed the front door and whipped out my phone from my back pocket, making it seem like I was greatly furious.
"Hey." Gavyn spoke into his phone.
"Where are you?" I asked, in the most mom-toned voice I could accomplish.
"I'm at Greyson's house."
"Why? You're supposed to be at home!" I yelled through the phone, putting a hand on my hip.
"Because I felt like going..." He said slowly, like it was obvious.
