Cassie's POV:

"Aaron?" I say softly, reaching to my left. I heard a chuckle and then felt his warm fingers wrap around my wrist.

Aaron had told me that he had a surprise for me, prior to getting into his car. He had carefully put a blindfold around my head and told me not to take it off, cause it could ruin the surprise. He knew I always got nervous when he had a surprise, my hands started to shake and I bit my lip. As I was trying to control my breathing, I felt his lips on the back of my hand.

"Cassie, everything is alright, you're going to love it I promise." He said giving my hand a soft squeeze before putting my hand down, only to put his on my thigh. He drew swirls on my skin, trying to calm me down.

"Are we there yet?" I say with a soft laugh. He laughed.

"Almost sweetheart. Almost."

- 15 minutes later -

"Okay babe just a few more steps." Aaron said holding my hand guiding me to whereever we were going. He then let go and I stopped.

"Aaron?" I said reaching around me.

"You can take the blindfold off now." He said with a smile to his voice. I sighed in relief that he was still here. I took off the blindfold and my mouth dropped. There Aaron stood in front of me, holding the most adorable puppy I had ever seen.

"Oh my gosh it's so cute!" I say as he puts it into my arms.

"Do you like him?" He said as the puppy licked his finger.

"Oh I love him!" I say holding him close.

"Good, cause he's coming home with us." Aaron said smiling.

I squealed and bured my head under Aaron's chin. His arms wrapped around me as I held the puppy between us.

"Our own little family." Aaron said kissing my temple as the puppy licked my nose.

"We have to name him!" I say beaming at Aaron.

"How about Charlie or Duncan?" Aaron said holding his face and looking into his little eyes.

"Charlie." I say smiling as I snuggled my face in his soft fur.

- 2 years later -

"Aaron, I'm going to the store really quick to get some milk and eggs!" I yell from the kitchen. Aaron appears from around the corner, and gives me a kiss.

"Ok, be safe." He says kissing me one more time.

"Ok, I will. Bye Charlie!" I say leaning down and kissing him on the head, before walking out the door.

Aaron's POV:

- 45 minutes later -

Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring ring.

I leaned over from my spot on the couch and answered my phone.

"Hello?" I say sitting up and running my hand through my bed head. Charlie sat up from where he was laying and came over to me. I started rubbing his tummy and listened as the voice spoke.

"Mr. Aaron Carpenter?" I woman's voice said through the phone.
"Yes..." I said optimistically.

"I would like to inform you that Cassie Y/L/N has been in a car accident. And is being rushed to the hospital right now."

I dropped the phone and ran out the door, leaving Charlie.

"No! No! No! Cassie, just hold on just a little longer! Don't leave me! I'm coming!" I cried as I drove to the hospital.

- 6 hours later -

I opened the front door slowly, and started sobbing as I closed it behind me. I slid down the door and curled into a ball on the floor. I screamed and sobbed her name as I rocked myself.

"Cassie!" I sobbed. My only love, gone. "Come back! I need you!" I screamed as I gritted my teeth in pain. I looked up to see Charlie looking out the window. Waiting.

My heart broke even more.

"She's not coming back!" I screamed at him. "She's gone!" He let out a whine and anxiously paced the length of the window.

"Did you hear me?! She's gone! She's never coming home!" I screamed as I broke down into more sobs. He came over to me and lay beside me. I wrapped my arms around him and cried into his fur.

She's gone.

I hope you liked this Cassie! I definatly cried writing this!
