Y/n's POV:

"Whoa..." Aaron murmured. I turned myself around, away from the full length mirror. Smiling at him, as I smoothed my dress. His eyes traveling up my legs, before locking eyes with me. His mouth open, as he drooled over my curves.

"Aaron?" I giggle. He shook his head quickly, snapping him back to reality.

"You look beautiful." He smiled.

Aaron and I were best friends, at least I thought we were. He never had asked me to be his girl friend, so I just assumed he didn't think of me that way. He crossed the room quietly, grabbing my hand. He twirled me around slowly a few times. Observing.

"Are you sure you still want to go?" He said, raising an eyebrow. I burst out laughing, pulling him into a hug.

"I'm sure."

He held me softly to his chest. Aaron and I were both huggers, so we did hug a lot. Sometimes longer then we probably should. Waiting for the other person to pull away, and staying put when they didn't.

"You ready?" He said into my neck. His warm breath, trickling down my skin. I pulled away and kissed his cheek, taking him by surprise. He was acting odd tonight, and I laced my fingers with his.

"Are you ok?"

He nodded, tightening his grip on my fingers. Not meeting my eyes, as he rubbed his thumb over my skin. Then he took his hands out of mine, as he gave me a big smile.

"Yep, all good here."

"Ok," I say, not sure if he was telling the truth or not. But I shook it off, letting Aaron put his hand on my back. Ushering me out of my room, and down stairs.

The party had already started, making it a little awkward to join the crowd. Aaron stayed beside me, patting a few of his friends on the back as he kept his hand close to my back. I saw my group of friends and waved to them.

"I'm going to go say hi to some friends." I say turning around, almost running into Aaron in the process. Putting my hands over his chest as I turned beat red, pushing away from him as he nodded. I can't believe that just happened. I put a smile back on my face, as I approached the group of girls.

"Y/n!" They screamed, pulling me into a hug. "Oh my gosh, You and Aaron are so cute!" They squealed. I laughed, looking back over my shoulder at Aaron. I finally found him with my eyes. He was in a circle of his friends. His arm resting on Cameron's shoulder. He caught my gaze, and smiled.

"Y/n stop making us feel so single, Oh my gosh." One said, crossing her arms jokingly.

"It's not like she can help it," Someone else added. "She cant help being desirable." She said, fanning her face dramatically.

"Stop." I giggle, hiding my face in my hands.

"Someone's in love." They teased.

"I am not!" I defend, even though it was hopeless. My face was all ready redder then a strawberry, what can I blame that on? The room is hot? Allergies? Oh no, you know I'm just falling for my best friend. No problem. My friends all rolled their eyes, then smiled wider. I looked at them weirdly, before jumping when I felt an arm wrap around my waist.

"I'm very sorry ladies," Aaron smoothly. "But I need to steal Y/n away for a bit."

They all nodded quickly, looking like a bunch of dorks. About to fan-girl on the spot. Containing their gossip as he stood in their presence, only to burst out in chatter when he lead me away.

"How are you so charming?" I say, looking at him as he guided me away from the group.

"It's natural talent." He smirked, leading me to the dance floor. I looked over at the clock on the wall.

11:34 pm.

"Have you thought about what your new years resolution will be?" I yell over the music. He danced to the beat as he smiled and shook his head.

"No I haven't." He said blankly. "You?"

I shook my head, dancing to the music. Dramatically lip-syncing as I smiled. Aaron laughed, twirling me around. Like he had done earlier, he seemed very repetitive tonight. When the guy part came on he opened his suit jacket as he swayed his hips, dramatically pointing to me. He was so hot. I moved my hips side to side as he relaxed into the music. Becoming playful.

I laughed as held his hand out to me. I grabbed his hand, and he pulled me into his chest. I squealed, throwing my head back in laughter as we tangoed in a circle. He let go of me and slowly smoothed his hair back. He was on fire.

We sang out the lyrics out loud as I playfully wrapped his arms around me, then we started to stop dancing as a slow song played. I was about to ask if Aaron wanted to get some punch, when he swooped into my gasp. His arm around my waist tightly, as he held my other hand with his. I looked down, smiling at the rhythm our feet followed. I felt his gaze on me, bringing my eyes to his.

"5 minutes!" Someone yelled, breaking our stare.

I looked back at him, and smiled. Our dance was a silent one, giving me a chance to look around the room. I met the eyes of Cameron, and he winked. I looked up at Aaron's face to see him smiling. The wink was to Aaron. Then I saw my friends freaking over Aaron dancing together. Being dorks as they clutched their hearts and reached out to me. Blowing me kisses, before they disappeared behind Aaron's shoulder.

The song ended, and Aaron led me off the dance floor. He grabbed two cups off the table, and handed me one. I thanked him and gratefully drank it. I was so glad they had water available, probably because most of us were under age.

"1 minute!" Everyone screamed. Aaron put his drink down, and looked over to me. I put mine down next to his, and he grabbed my hand. Pulling me under the color changing lights of the dance floor.

"This night has been so perfect." I say, smiling up at him.

"19!"

"You know what would make it more perfect?" He yelled over the count down. I shook my head.

"10!"

Aaron stepped forward, taking my hands and pulling them around his neck. My heart raced against my chest as I realized what he meant.

"5!"

"4!"

"I love you Y/n." He whispered, kissing the corner of my mouth. My legs melted under his touch, my face redder then ever.

"2!"

"I love you too Aaron." I say back, watching a smile play on his lips as he leaned in.

"1!"

Then he was kissing me.

"Happy New Year!"

The rush of the party fading out from underneath us. Time slowing down, as I pulled him closer to me. Kissing him as if we were alone, alone instead of in the middle of a sea of people. Waves of jumping friends and family. Every inch of the room moving.

Except us. I was in the eye of the storm, with the only person who understood me. Little did he know I did know my new years resolution. It was this moment. A moment I would hold onto forever.
