I walked into a large band hall forgetting that Michael was beside me.

"Now...where am I supposed to be..." I whispered to myself. I looked around the large band room almost packed with people holding instruments. In one of the corners I found Niko and the other flutes in a circle.

Beside Niko was the dude from 8th grade night. I grinned in my head and went beside Niko.

"Okay, now that everyone is here," One of the flutes said, who seemed to be a senior, "time to introduce ourselves!".

I nodded with everyone else and looked at the ground not sure what to think. The senior spoke again.

"Let's say... um." She looked to the side and then started again. " Let's say our name, two interesting facts, and... what you're looking forward this marching season. I'll start. "

I looked up and saw her looking at me.

"I'm Rose, going to be a senior, I ate ice cream this morning, and I'm really looking forward to helping everyone!" She ended and nudged the person to her left.

"Oh, I'm Cory, I'm Asian..."

And fifteen minutes flew by, by everyone introducing themselves and having random conversations. I found out that the dudes name is Nate, he likes to eat, he likes cookies, and he's looking forward to state.

As I looked around to find Anthony, I felt a sharp pain on the back of my head. Before I could be even process what happened, I heard a familiar voice. I opened my eyes to find myself on the floor and a group of high schoolers surrounding me.

The voice came back and I finally registered that many people were talking.

"Are you okay?"

"What happened?"

"The band directors coming!"

"Sam! Look what you did!"

"Oh shiz, I'm sorry Grace!"

The voices kept talking and I grew a headache. Suddenly, the voices suddenly calmed down and there was a silence when the band director came into everyone's view.

"What happened?" He said, and then a burst of voices came and everyone started trying to explain what happened.

"SAM!"

"She got hit by a case, and blacked out for a second." What? How can someone get hit in the head by a case?

The band director spoke again.

"Next question, are you okay?" He asked me, and I was still on the ground.

"Shouldn't that be the first question..." I muttered then answered the question,"I think I am?". Okay, that wasn't an answer, more like a reply.

I heard a familiar voice and snapped my head to the side.

"Fine, she's okay!" Nate said and everyone muttered "thank goodness" or whatever.

Nate offered me a hand and I took it, then he helped me stand up. Once I stood up, the small crowd scattered.

"So...what happened?" I asked looking to the ground. He looked to where I was standing earlier and pointed there also.

"So, what happened was when you were distracted or something, this dude named Sam, that trumpet player over there left his case in top of the band lockers..." He started and I nodded implying I understood so far. "And, when he was pulling it down, it hit your head and you were kind of out of it for a while."

I facepalmed noticing that was a bad idea after my hand touched my forehead. I groaned for a second and the pain was gone.

"Yeah, I guess it would be a good idea to sit out for today..." He said and disappointment took over me.

I was looking forward to this day forever, and now I have to sit out. I can't wait a day. A stayed quiet, being in my own world and was soon taken out of it.

"It's okay..." He said to me hesitantly. I sighed and just had to accept it.

Practice started, and I just sat in the back while everyone else was learning.

And I once again surrounded myself in my own world.
