Sonic and the Missing Link

Chapter Five

I woke up the next day to find silver by my bed with dark circles under his eyes. He must of been up all night. I looked at the nearest clock and found out it was the late afternoon, maybe even the next day. I sat up slowly and rubbed my head. I must have been tired. I froze when I felt bandages around my head. I slowly rose out of bed and walked slowly down stairs. I was starving, It felt as if I haven't eaten in days.

I walked to the kitchen and notice that the meat was almost gone already. I bought enough to last a few days, why is it almost gone already? I let it slide and just grabbed some food. While eating I heard small splashing outside. I stepped towards the outside door, and looked through the window. It seems Silver threw in some pool toys for him. I smiled as I watched him play around for awhile until I stepped outside.

Shadow immediately looked at me as I stepped out. He swam to the edge and reached for me. "Sonic okay!" I walked over and he pulled me into a hug. I was surprised at first but hugged him back.

"yeah, of course I'm fine, I just needed some rest." I messed with his hair when he finally let go. I heard the door to my house open and turned my head. Silver was walking out, rubbing his eyes. "Hey." I gave him a smile.

"You're finally up, Sonic" He walked over and leaned against the pool, yawning.

"I was only out for like a day, It was midnight by the time I passed out." I looked at Shadows wound and saw that the stitches were all ready out.

"No you weren't. You almost went into a coma Sonic... You were out for two days." I was shocked. "Your brother called and said he couldn't come home for another few days. I told him only about you but said I would take care of you. He's worried y'know..." He looked exhausted and concerned.

"... I'm sorry I worried you." I looked at Shadow. He even looked tired. He must of not slept well knowing I was hurt.

"No no Sonic, It's fine. Oh! I also taught Shadow some of our language to help him understand." Silver yawned and laid his head on the edge. I sighed.

"How about you go to bed? You're exhausted. I'll be fine." Silver stood up and looked down at me. He was taller than me. He sighed and just nodded and walked back inside. "Take my room!" I yelled at last second before he shut the door. Shadow hugged me when I turned back to him and pulled me closer. I hugged him back as he rested his head on my shoulder and loosened his grip. He fell asleep almost instantly he touched his head to my shoulder. I played with his hair for awhile till I slipped him back into the water and walked back inside. If I was out for a few days, I must have transformed while passed out. Right when I thought that, I saw some cloth sticking out of the trash can. It was the clothing I was wearing when I passed out. It was torn to shreds. I was about to walk towards the living room until I heard someone knock on the door. I was about to grab the door until it swung open and hit me in the face.

"Ah! Sonic! Oh, I'm so sorry!" I was knocked to the ground, gripping my face in pain. I felt the person put her hands on my shoulders.

"What the heck Amy?! I was just about to open it!" I stared up at her, angrily. I shrugged her off and stood up.

" I said I was sorry..." I sighed. I just walked away from her and went back to living room. She followed me and tried to sit next to me.

"Why are you here?" I crossed my arms and leaned away from her.

"I just wanted to check on you. There wa a full moon yesterday and I just wanted to see how you were doing." She crossed her arms. "And you are starting to seem really distant lately." She gave a slight pouty face and stared at me.
"Amy, maybe I don't want to hang out with you?" I started to pull off the bandages on my head. I was about to say something until splashing was heard outside.

"What was that?" I jumped up and over the couch just to stop her. I held her back and wouldn't let her go.

"I-its nothing! You should go home now! BYE!" I started to push her towards the door before breaking out of my grip and ran towards the backdoor. I ran after her but tripped on the way.She opened the door and stopped.

"Why do you have a pool?" I froze as she walked out. I quickly ran after her and grabbed her before she made it to the pool. I quickly looked if Shadow was poking out but he wasn't. I sighed with relief.

"Tails got it. I don't go near it, since y'know. Scared of water. You should really get going." I once again began to drag her back to the house. She didn't fight this time. I slammed the door and locked it. I waited a few seconds before heading to Shadow. I walked over to the pool. Shadow was curled up at the bottom. He must be tired. I was the only one awake, for awhile at least. I was still hungry but I didn't want to leave them. I sighed and watched him. I pushed the pool toys around until I heard someone come up behind me. A small gasp was heard before I could turn around. I quickly turn and saw Amy looking into the pool. I froze and didn't know what to do. She stared at Shadow and I stared at her. What do I do now?!

"Please don't tell anyone..." I was about to beg her to not tell away. She turned to me and just stared. She must of saw how sad I was and sighed.

"I won't.." Amy gave me a small smile. "But you have to tell me what happened. Tell me everything" I sighed and sat down, leaning against the pool. I guess I had no other choice. I began to tell her everything up until now.

As we were talking, I heard Shadow coming out of the water. He slowly peaked over the edge at us and stared at Amy. I smiled at him and stood up. Shadow grabbed me and almost pulled me into the pool before and stop him. Amy seemed jealous.

"Jealous Amy?" I laughed at her. She gave a pouty face. "I told you, He's very protective and attached to me. I don't understand why, other then me saving him." I pushed away from him and leaned against the pool.

"So you're over your fear of water?" I looked at her. "I guess that is a no then." She sighed. "How are you going to return him?" I froze.

"..." I didn't think that far yet. "I don't know yet..." I didn't look at her. I couldn't. I stared at Shadow. I almost felt like my heart was being crushed from the inside. I wish he wouldn't leave. She put her hand on my shoulder to comfort me. I just sighed and looked at her, only to have lips pressed against mine. My eyes widen in shock. Amy kissed me. After she pulled away, I just froze. I was too shocked to do anything. I heard Shadow give a light growl.

"YA ne lyublyu rozovyy volosy devochka." Shadow stared at her. I finally realized what happened and started to get pissed off. 

"What the hell Amy?!" I was so angry. "Why did you kiss me?! I don't even like you! Get the hell out of here!" Silver was standing in the doorway now. Amy looked really hurt. I didn't care right now, I was too pissed off. "Just leave! Don't come back." I turned away from her. Amy ran pass Silver. Silver stared at me. I sighed and just looked at Shadow, who was very confused. Silver walked over to me. He sighed and patted my shoulder.

"You knew that was going to happen, didn't you?.." He nodded and I just groaned. Shadow was just confused and looking at us. Why did this have to happen. If I haven't meet Shadow... I wouldn't have been having a great time. To love someone... My life changed and I loved it. Maybe this was better this way.

" I'm gonna go take a nap again. Wake me up if you need me." I nodded, he did need some sleep. Sighing, I looked back at Shadow, to only have him barely an inch away from me. At first my face warmed up, turning a bright red, then slowly cooled down. Only to heat back up, as Shadow cupped my face and pulled it closer. A warm pair of lips were pressed against mine. I was shocked at first before melting away.
