Sonic and the Missing Link

Chapter 10

(Shadow's POV)
--Few minutes earlier--

I began to start hearing noises and commotion around the house. I tried to stay hidden, not wanting anyone to find out about me. I heard someone come into the yard, diving down to keep hidden....

I felt the pool shake and I was terrified. I saw a paw on the edge followed by another and a head. I sighed, realizing it was my mate. Slowly I swam to him, smiling. I was about to touch his soft fur, only for him to collapse. I gasped and tried to get to him. I landed hard on my side, crawling over to him. I gently placed his hand in my lap, gently caressing his fur. I knew he wasn't dead. I could sense he wasn't dead. I sighed and tried to keep calm, for his sake.

The door burst open and I saw Tails. His face was shocked, and showed sadness. He slowly walked towards us, tears began to stain his cheeks.

"Sonic not dead." I tried to reassure him. Giving him a light smile before looking back at my beloved Sonic, giving a sad sigh. "He not dead..."

Tails gently pulled Sonic away from me, and put his head up to his chest. His face showed relief. Sighing, He sat next to us, watching Sonic carefully.

(Tails' POV)

I sighed with relief, Sonic still had a heart beat. It was still strong as always, but something seemed off. I went to get blanket for him, to keep him warm. Only for when I came back, Sonic was already transforming back. What the heck?! This is way too early for him to do that! He's only been in that form for a few minutes. I quickly threw the blanket over him, not wanting to see his naked body.

I stared at the bruises he got from jumping from the window, most of them healed from his other form. What was wrong with him? Why was he already back to his human form? Shadow gently place his hand on Sonic's face. I felt my heart drop as I saw Sonic softly breathing, not moving from his spot. I had to call Silver or 911. He could be fine but I don't know. I'm a scientist not a doctor! Only Silver would know if Sonic was hurt bad or not. I'll just bring him inside first, get him clothed and call someone. Sonic is heavier than you would think, I struggled at first, but managed to get him to his room. I dressed him and laid him down. Just as I was pulling out my phone, Silver came running in.

"What happened? Why is he here?" Silver quickly walked over. I caught him up on everything, still having my phone in my hand. Silver took a look at Sonic, turning to me. "Call now." I just nodded and quickly called. They came and took Sonic. Taking him back to his room, checking what was wrong.

We were told to wait, not knowing what was happening. Why was this happening to him? We were later told he was in a coma. We don't know when he would wake up or if he ever will. I called our friends and told them the news. I was devastated, my big brother in a coma. I didn't know how to tell Shadow. Sonic and Shadow had a real connection that I couldn't explain, and he would be heart-broken....

I watched Sonic, not knowing what to do. I might not be able to ever hear his voice again. Hearing his stupid jokes or him trying to cheer me up. The other tried to comfort me, I just couldn't handle it anymore. I left the room while the others watched over Sonic. Why is this happening now?
