Chapter One

It was in the Spring when my father passed away. My mother couldn't stand in the house without crying. So it was decided. We would set sail on a new adventure to the City of Gold Coast, Australia.

“Wow!” I gasped getting off the plane.

“Welcome to your new home.” My mom tried to smile. I could tell she was still broken.

I was thrilled when we arrived to our house. It was huge and there was a glass door leading to a beach. I started smiling from ear to ear when my mom came behind me.

“Best part is it's a private beach. Only us and the neighbours have access to it.” My mom rubbed my back.

I rolled my eyes. Great. Neighbours. They're all fake. They act like they care about you, but they don't.

“Go start unpacking.” My mom pushed me to towards the stairs.

I sighed and began making my room. Once I was done, I walked to my moms room to find her sleeping on the floor. I placed a blanket over her and changed into Black Shorts and a Chiffon Back High-Low Top. I got outside and gasped at the view. All the houses were surrounding the beach. The only way to enter was through the houses. I grabbed my favourite book by Ally Carter and sat on the sand. I was those girls that didn't wear make up. Yeah I loved fashion, but I also loved school. I cared about books more than boys. There were times when I met hot guys, but they never liked me. Yeah I was pretty, but not pretty as those popular girls. Reading stories are the closest I'll probably ever get to something romantic.

Cody's POV:

“Where's your surfboard?” My best friend, Jake Thurpp, asked getting up from the couch.

“Right here. Let's go now before everyone wakes up.” I grabbed my favourite surfboard and a towel.

“It's only 8:30, no ones going to wake up.” He laughed.

“If you keep talking they might, come on!” I said opening the glass door.

We walked along the beach for a while when I saw someone sitting on the sand

Who's that? I thought to myself.

I squinted my eyes so I could see better. It was girl, but not just a girl. The most gorgeous girl I've ever seen in my life.
