Chapter Twenty Two
“I guess this is it.” My mom hugs Angie and Brad. “Thank you.. for ever everything."
“I’m going to miss you so much.” Angie pouts as they walk towards the door. Brad picks up the suitcases and walks toward their car.
“And you.” Angie points to me as she walks towards me. “Thank you for being the best girlfriend my son has ever had.” She hugs me before whispering. “He really really likes you.”
Angie and my mom talk some more as I felt hands wrap around my waist.
“I’m going to miss you so much.” Cody frowns as I turn around.
“I am too.” I hug him, hiding my tears.
“Everyone ready?” Brad asks leaning against the door frame.
“Alli! Tom!” Angie yells their names as Tom runs down the stairs.
“Where’s Alli?” Cody looks around, his hands still wrapped around my waist.
“She’s by the beach with Ryan.”
“Probably making out.” Kenny, who was sitting on a kitchen stool, rolled his eyes making me laugh.
“I heard that!” Ryan says entering the house with Alli, but they weren’t holding hands, or anything.
“Ready to go?” Brad asks nodding his towards the van.
Cody walks away from me as he says goodbye to Kenny, Ryan, then, my mother. After everyone was done saying their goodbyes we left the house. I was going to the airport with them because I was driving the van back to their garage.
“What happened?” I ask Alli as everyone got into the van.
“How-” She starts, but she knows I know her too well. “We’re… Taking a break.” She sighs.
“Oh my god.” I hug her. She tells me it’s okay and that she was the one who suggested it.
We get into the car and I begin driving. The car ride was silent. No one wanted to talk. We were all to upset and there was nothing to talk about. We arrived at the airport twenty minutes later.
I parked the car and helped pull out the luggage. We talked a bit as we walked to the airport together. Alli, Tom, Cody and I sat at a table as Angie and Brad went to go print out their tickets.
A few minutes later, they came back, ready to leave.
“I’m gonna miss watching movies with you, Tom.” I kneeled down to hug him. He hugged me back before grabbing his backpack.
“Bye sweetie.” Angie smiles as she gives on last hug. Brad says goodbye to me after, thanking me for the party.
“This is it.” I sigh walking over to Alli.
“I’m really not good at goodbyes.” She sniffs before hugging me for the longest time.
“I’m going to miss you so much.” I cry. Alli was my first best friend that was a girl.
“We’re going to skype and text each other everything, okay?” She smiles before she grabs her bag.
The whole family waves goodbye and begins walking to check in their suitcases. They decided to leave Cody and I alone so we could say our goodbyes.
“I don’t know what to say.” I admit hugging Cody. What was I suppose to say to my boyfriend? I love you and goodbye? I had no idea when I was going to see him again. I’m gonna miss him so much. Knowing he won’t be a few houses down made me extremely sad.
“What ever you do.” He whispers hugging me back. “Please don’t cry. It’s gonna kill me.”
“But I’m going to miss you so fuckin’ much.” I sigh rubbing my eyes. I hardly got sleep last night. Cody, Alli, Ryan, Kenny and I went to the carnival and weren’t back till 10. Afterwards, Cody and I watched the stars outside my house and fell asleep on the sand.
“I’m going to miss you too, but we’ll see each other again!” He smiles.
“Okay.” I nod. I wrap my arms around him, taking in the smell of his cologne and feeling his arms wrapped around me. We’ll see each other again.
We stay in each others arms for what felt like hours, but were only minutes.
Cody pulls away and pulls out his phone. He checks his phone and saw a text from Alli. She texted him saying they went through security check already and to come whenever he’s ready.
“Just like Alli, we’re gonna skype and text and everything.” He smiles.
“Goodbye Cody.” I hold my tears and smile.
“Not goodbye. See you soon.” He grins before leaning in. I looked into his eyes. They were full of colour and happiness. My heart pounded in my chest as my stomach twisted and our lips met. They were soft against mine. They fitted perfectly. I lifted my hands and pulled them up to his shoulders where I entertained them with his soft blonde hair. He wrapped his hand around my waist and pulled me close. No matter how far apart we were, he was mine and I was his and nothing could change that.
We pulled away catching our breaths.
“I love you.” We say in unison. We walk towards the gate, hands intertwined. My heart felt weak as I saw him show his ticket to the lady and hand his luggage to her. He slowly began to walk down a long hallway when he turned around and looked at me. I smiled and waved as he turned back around and continued walking.
I walked out of the airport and back to the car as my phone started to vibrate.
Cody: I miss you already :((
I smiled. Who knew what would happen while Cody was on tour. I didn’t know if I would be able to travel to see him, or if we would get to talk everyday, but I do know I would miss him a lot. And I did know that we would get through it. If we could get through all the secrets, we could get through anything.
