Chapter Thirteen: Best Freinds

Chapter Thirteen:

“Surprise!” A male posed by the door frame.

“Kenny?” I pulled away from Cody. “Kenny?” I ran towards him. Oh my god! It's him!

“Hey there!” He tried to wink, but failed.

“Oh my god!” I hugged him. I've missed him so much.

“What's up ya'll!” Ryan entered the house with suitcases.

“Ryan!” I hugged him. I couldn't believe it! My two best friends were here! In Australia!

Cody's POV:

We were this close! This close to our first kiss! I pulled my hair back. Wait, is that Ryan Beatty?

Alex's POV:

“Did we interrupt something?” Kenny elbowed me.

“Ugh...” I played with my hair.

“We did, huh?” Kenny teased me.

“How did you guys get here?” I changed the subject.

“Your mom picked us up!” Ryan answered walking over to Cody as they greeted. Wait, how did they know each other?

“Wait.” My eyes bulged out. “My mom's sleeping in her room.” I pointed to the stairs.

“No, that was me. Your mom told me that she was bringing some friends of yours. She said they were cute so I decided to help by pretending...” Alli explained while walking down the stairs. “Ryan?!” She screamed before tripping and falling down the rest of the steps. 

We all ran to her side, laughing.

“Alli, are you okay?” Ryan helped her up.

“Yes, now that you're here!” She hugged him.

Was there something between them?

“You still haven't answered me! Were we interrupting something?” Kenny asked.

“Nothing, just they were about to kiss.” Alli smirked at me.

Cody and I both gave her a deadly look.

“What? I heard everything loser.” She winked at me as she said loser in her strong Australian accent. I blushed in embarrassment.

“See! I told you! Didn't I tell you moving would be a good thing? Isn't Kenny always right?” Kenny laughed.

Kenny was always crazy, but that’s one thing I loved about him.

“Anyone miss their second mama?” Mrs. Beatty laughed entering the door.

“Mama Beatty!” I ran hugging her.

I called her that because she really was like my mom. When my mom would spend the nights in the hospital Mama Beatty and the whole family looked after me.

“Wow, you've certainly grown in the last three months!” She laughed as we all sat down in the living room

There wasn't room on the couch so I sat on the ground beside Cody.

“Wait, but Alex just moved here about a month ago.” Cody said as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

“After her father died she went in total shut down. Speaking and seeing no one, but Kenny and her counsellor.” Mama Beatty explained.

I remember those painful months. My mom also went depressed. I don't even want to think of that. All those nightmares and the time were I found my mom crying in her room.

“So, how do you guys know each other?” I asked changing the subject.

“Cody and I went on tour together.” Ryan said. He was sitting beside Alli.

“And we're all just really close friends!” Alli smiled resting her head on his shoulder.

“How do you guys know each other?” Cody raised an eyebrow.

“We grew up in the same neighbourhood.” I smile remembering all the memories. 

“We use to go to school together too.” Kenny told.

We laughed and talked. It felt like the old days.

“So, how do you really know them?” Alli asked as we were in the kitchen cleaning the dishes.

“Remember the time I told you about what those girls did to me?” I said referring to when they kept kicking my stomach and staped me. “Well, they were about to do something like that LONG time ago when Kenny stopped them. He saved my life by-" I explained. 

-Flashback-

“You're so annoying!”

“You will never ever play with us!”

“You don't deserve to go to heaven you should go to the bad word one!”

“Ugly people like you don't deserve to be living on this planet!” The one tying a scarf around my mouth said.

I tried squirming and squealing, but one held my hand even tighter. It was recess and they dragged me behind a dumpster so no one could watch me die. They started to kick me in the stomach as I cried in pain. 

“Leave her alone!” A boy walked towards us.

“Or else what?” They smirked.

“Or else I'll tell the teacher!” He smirked.

Her eyes looked like they were about to bulge out.

“Girls!” She said before running away.

“Are you okay?” He asked helping me up from the ground and untying the scarf.

“Yeah.” I hardly choked out.

“I'm Kenny.” He hugged me. “And I promise I will never let them hurt you again.”

For some reason I trusted him. He seemed so kind and trustworthy.

“I'm Alex.” I said.

-End Of Flashback-

Cody's POV:

“I'll be back.” I said as I walked towards the kitchen to see if Alex and Alli needed help.

“How do you really know them?” Alli asked handing Alex a plate to dry.

I listened to everything. I never knew how much Alex struggled in life. I hope I can change that.
