Chapter Twenty One

“How about I come and visit you once, every two weeks?”

“If you were coming every two weeks you might as well stay with us!”

“I have school starting real soon!”

“You can be tutored on the bus!”

“My mother only likes the tutor I have and I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t like travelling around the world for three months.”

Cody and I both plopped on the sofa in frustration. We’ve been trying to figure out how to meet up while he’s on tour. Nothing’s working.

“Let’s face it.” I sat up, facing him. “We’ll never see each other. There’s no way.”

“I’m sorry.” Cody hugged me.

“Don’t worry, we’ll figure something out right? There’s always facetiming, phone calls, postcards.” I wrapped my arms around his neck.

“Couples that last through months without seeing each other can last through anything.” Cody winked.

“You’re such a weirdo.” I giggled.

He wrapped his hand around my waist as he pulled me close. I smiled as he leaned in to kiss me, our lips barely touched when the doorbell rang.

"I'm coming!" I sighed.

I turned around, but Cody's arm was still wrapped around my waist.

"Cody." I turned to him. He smirked at me evilly, before giving me a peck on the lips then letting me open the door.

I walked towards the door, smiling. I’m so happy I met him.

“Ryan.” I see him holding a basket of cookies and other bakery goods.

Shoot! He’s not suppose to be here for another twenty minutes! “Cody!” I look over my shoulder to see him slowly walking over to us.

“I’ll meet you in the garage in five minutes.” I whisper before quickly shutting the door and turning back to face Cody.

“Who was that?” He crosses his arm and leans against the table.

"Someone who came to the wrong house.” I roll my eyes. “But I actually have to go somewhere… I’ll meet you back at your place in an hour?”

“I’ll come with you!” He suggests, but I refuse. He gives me a questioning look before giving me a kiss on the cheek and leaves.

I walk into the garage and meet Ryan, Kenny and Jake all scattered around a small old table. We begin planning the goodbye party we had planned for the Simpson family this Saturday night. Since Ryan, Kenny and I didn’t know who to invite, Jake agreed to help us by inviting some of their closest friends and neighbours. We discuss the food, music, games and more as we eat cookies and make a list. This party is going to be great.

“Cody! Hurry up!” I pace back and forth by the door. Most of the guest should already be there, waiting for the family and I needed Cody out of his house, as soon as possible.

“Okay! Relax!” He says coming out of the bathroom, wearing a white shirt and a button down jacket. I told him and his family that we were going out for dinner with my mom and that they should dress formal, but comfortable.

“Let’s go!” I scream escorting everyone out the door and into the car. They all looked beautiful, this was going to be great.

I got into the driver’s of my mom’s minivan and started the car. I forced everyone in the family to put on blindfolds. I begin driving around the block to make it seem like we were going somewhere downtown. We were really having the party at Jake’s house and at the beach.

After five minutes, I stop the car outside Jake’s house and close the door. My mom, Ryan and Kenny were already waiting outside and helped me escort the whole family inside. The lights were turned off except a few candles. After bringing each of them inside, I motion for everyone to hide and tell the family to take off their blindfolds. They all do and we scream surprise. The whole family looked shocked, it was hilarious! We turn the lights on as they take in everything. Balloons were tied to chairs, all kinds of food were set up along a table, speakers were connected on the inside and outside.

“Oh my god!” Angie smiles.

Everyone continues to talk, eat and dance as Ryan, Kenny, my mom, Jake and his parents gather around the Simpson family.

“Thank you guys so much!” Angie hugs each and everyone one of us.

“Alex came up with the idea.” Jake nudges me.

“Well.” Cody smirks hugging me from behind. “I’ll have to find some way to thank her later.”

“Eww. Gross.” Alli rolls her eyes. “Come on.” She grabs Ryan and Kenny.

The parents walk away together and go talk to a bunch of other people. Tom runs away towards the food where he meets his friends.

I turn around to face Cody and kiss him on the cheek. I’m gonna miss him so much.

“Let’s go meet some of your friends.” I wink before grabbing his hand and leading him outside. We meet some of his and Alli’s childhood friends.

As the music plays and us teens were outside, Cody and I dance on the beach as the sun sets. It felt perfect.

“I’ll be back.” I smile before walking inside to get a drink. I walk to the table and get a soda.

“Alex, right?” A voice says behind me. I turn to see a muscular boy with brown hair and brown eyes staring at me.

“Yeah… And you are?” I shake his hand. Must be a friend of Alli’s.

“I’m Josh Winnington.” He smiles letting go of my hand and grabbing a soda.

“Nice to meet you.” I laugh. We talk some more, me asking how he knows Alli and Cody.

“I see you’ve met Josh.” Alli chuckles walking towards us.

“Yeap.” I nod. Josh hugs Alli and we all talk about random stuff.

“Hey Bailey!” Alli waves walking away from the two of us and towards another boy.

“Alli is one popular girl.” Josh rolls his eyes before taking a sip of his 7-Up. “Are you scared for Cody to go on tour?”

“What do you mean?” I tilt my head. Why would I be scared?

“You know...” He shrugs. “He’s going to be meeting a lot of fans, going everywhere and seeing beautiful women. What if he forgets about you?”

I bite my lip. I never thought of it like that. I always thought no matter what Cody would still remember me. I thought if we made it through this tour, we could make it through anything.

“Oh, I’m sorry for making it sound like he was going to cheat on you, or forget about you.” He rubs his arm. “Cody’s a great guy so you have nothing to worry about.” He says before walking away to Ryan and introducing himself.

What the fudge? You can’t put these thought in my mind.

“Everything okay?” Cody asks standing beside me.

“Yeah.” I whisper. “We can make it.”

Sorry I didn't edit this so sorry if it's sloppy and stuff!

Damn it Josh! Why you got to push these thoughts into her head?

I'm so done with the people at my school. They annoy me.
