Chapter Six
I was so excited! My very first sleepover! I've read alot about them. They share secrets, watch movies and most importantly, eat!
“Alli?” I yelled entering the empty house. My mom went out with Angie, Brad and Tom for dinner and a movie.
“Right here, Angel!” A voice came from the kitchen.
I rolled my eyes. “What are you doing here, Cody?"
“It is my house.” He opened his arms for a hug as I walked passed him.
“Hey A... Cody, what are you doing here?” Alli walked down the stairs.
“Like I told her, this is my house too.” He said.
“I thought you were sleeping at Jake's?” She looked concerned.
“Wait, what? I thought you were sleeping at Angel's! Jake's coming...”
“I'm here!” Jake smiled opening the door.
Alli looked shocked, mad and annoyed all at the same time.
“Umm... Let's give them some privacy, shall we?” Cody grabbed my bags and pillow and led me to the guest room as I followed him.
Alli's POV:
Ugh! I know what Jake wants to talk about, us. I should probably just listen and say no once he's done his speech. Like don't get me wrong, he's a great guy, but I'm seeing someone else.
“So...” He placed his bag on the ground and walked towards me.
“Yeah?” I pretended to act clueless.
“I was just wondering when you know..”
“What?” I raised an eyebrow.
“You know. When you want to... Do it.” He stuttered.
“Do what?” This time I was confused. What is he talking about?
“You know ride the waves.” He winked at me.
My eyes bulged out. "What?!"
“I think we should start tomorrow. It'll be fun.” He smirked.
My jaw dropped.
Angel's POV:
“I think we should go check if Alli's okay.” I said turning towards the door.
“Wait!” Cody said grabbing my hand. “We should give them some privacy.”
I looked down at our hands before he let go.
“So...” Cody sat on the bed. “Tell me about yourself. Is your parents divorced, or something?”
I gulped. I knew he was going to ask sooner, or later. I just wasn't prepared.
“Ugh, yeah... He lives in... L.A...” I quickly walked out of the room.
“He must be a loser then for leaving an amazing girl like you.”
I stopped walking down the stairs and turned around. I felt like crying, but I did something else. I slapped Cody across the cheek.
“My dad's anything but a loser!” I cried. Just then I heard Alli yell which made me run.
“Listen, you jerk! I don't want anything to do with you and your waves! I don't want to do it with you! We're too young!” She slapped Jake across the face.
“What?” He held his cheek in pain.
“Alli?” I whispered making her look at me.
“Alli, what are you talking about? Jake just wants to know if you want him to teach you how to surf!” Cody walked down the stairs.
Her eyes looked like they were about to pop out as her face turned red. She turned towards Jake.
“Jake I'm...” Alli touched his cheek.
“No, I should be sorry. I should've been more clear.” He took her hand and kissed it.
“Well...” She blushed. “I would love to...” She paused turning around. “Wait Cody, what did you do? Why is she crying?”
“He didn't do anything.” I quickly looked down trying to wipe the tears.
“No I did.” Cody walked to me. “I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have said that and I won't get mad at you if you don't want to talk to me again, but I just want you to know that I'm so sorry!” He lifted my chin and wiped some tears.
I looked in his eyes and I could tell he was being honest. I decided to trust him a little bit.
