Chapter Two
Cody's POV:
Jake started walking towards the waves when I stopped him.
“Let's go to this side of the waves.” I wanted to walk past her.
“Umm, okay.” We started walking when we past her. She had glasses on and was reading a book.
“Hey Jake, isn't surfing great?” I loudly spoke, hoping she would hear, but she didn't. She was like zoned into that book! Maybe she'll notice me while I'm surfing. So Jake and I went out into the waves and began surfing.
-Hour later-
“This is so much fun!” I yelled at Jake.
“Mate, I thought you said you didn't want to wake anyone up.” He whispered then paused. “Are you trying to impress that girl?” He pointed at the girl. She was still reading the book, but now was in a different position. I shrugged my shoulders. “Come on.” He said as we walked over to her from the ocean.
I examined her more closely. She had light brown hair that flowed over her shoulders and had tan skin. She was gorgeous.
“Sorry, you're blocking my sun light.” She said in a singsong voice.
Jake and I didn't say a word. She looked up from her book as our eyes met. Her big, brown eyes shimmered. She was like an angel sent from above. Just looking at her made my heart melt.
“Hi I'm Jake.” Jake walked towards her, shaking her hand with a small smile. She closed her book then glanced at me.
“Oh... I'm so sorry.” She whispered.
“Sorry about what?” Jake looked at me then at her.
“I didn't know your friend is deaf.” She turned to me doing some sign language.
“What? I'm not deaf.” I blushed looking away. .
“Oh...” She stood up. “My bad...” She blushed looking down at the ground.
“It's okay.” I walked up to her with the surfboard in one hand, while using the other to shake her hand
“Nice to meet you.” She smiled. “So, you guys always go surfing early in the morning?”
“Haha, do you always read early this morning?” I laughed.
“I can't sleep.” She shrugged her shoulders.
“I'm Cody, by the way.”
“Hi. I'm...” She started when I believe her mom called her from the house. “Oh sorry, I got to go. Nice meeting you two!” She ran inside the house.
“Wait I didn't get your name!” I mumbled under my breath.
I wanted to get to know her better, but I didn't even know her name! She had the sweetest voice, but when I looked in her eyes, I could see pain. She was gorgeous though. To the way she dressed, to her long hair; everything was perfect. Was it love at first sight?
