*Claire's P.O.V*

Point. Shoot. Repeat. Point. Shoot. Repeat.

It's been over three hours and I've been shooting at targets the entire time. Never missing the head which is where I normally preferred to hit. Hitting the chest area could provide a chance for recovery. At least in the head the victim with end up brain dead in the best case senereo. My gun runs out of bullets and just as I start to reload, someone opens the door.

Two men come inside and walk closer to me, "Follow us."  I put down my things and go to them, following them out of the room and into a hallway. Although it shouldn't, my mind starts to wonder about why I am being called for something. My data reports and examinations aren't for until another week, and it's not as if I've done anything wrong. As we walk further through the hall my eyes are trained on one room. The torture one.
There have been times where I've been tortured as a way to strengthen loyalty. I had been beaten, cut, and even burned ever so slightly for the cause. I of course can't fight back and I have many scars on my back to prove it. But I'll insure the torture to prove that I am willing to do anything to save the world. Even if it means enduring things that won't let me sleep at night.

We pass the room and I let out a small breath of relief. But we keep going and again I think of the destination.  A few more turns left and right around corners and I am taken to a room I don't believe I've ever been in. When we walk inside I immediately scan the room. There are 6 people in the room, if including the ones that just walked in with me. Four of them are guards; one of them is myself, and the other is Alexander Pierce. I feel another presence but I can't see it so I stay on alert.

Piece walked up to the to me, looked me over and then turned to the two guards behind me, "Is she still obedient?"
"Yes, sir," said one of them. He nodded, "Very well."
I wasn't caught off guard by him at all. If I wanted to I could've stopped his hand and snapped his arm in half. But instead I stood my ground and let him slap me hard across my face.

*Winter Soldier's P.O.V*

I was in the corner. Hidden by the darkness since the back lights were off. To an untrained eye, even the eyes of the guards, it's as if I'm not here. But she knows.
I've heard of The Nyx before. Deadly and kills as stealthy as poison if even more. Her record of deaths is parallel to mine and I am aware that she's been in hydra longer than I have. But this is the first time I've ever seen her. . . And I thought by her reputation that she'd be taller.

"Very well," Pierce nodded to the guards and slapped Nyx. The slap rang out through the room and I saw her head turn to the side. It would leave a bruise but she said nothing. Only turned to face him like a good soldier.
I clenched my jaw as I suppressed a feeling of some sort. I had seen Pierce beat men and women alike senselessly. This slap had been nothing. Yet it had gotten me angry. In an instant I ignored them, pushed them deep down and kept waiting to be called for.

Pierce straighten his suit jacket, "You were called here, Nyx because I need you to perform a mission." She didn't have any kind of expression to this mission. I already knew what it was and had been briefed earlier. It was an assassination plot as well as one for retrieving information. He explained the details of assassinating an Italian rouge member with vital information on his hands.

"You will also be given a partner for this job." Nyx made a face at this, "A parter? I can do the job just fine on my own."

So could I, don't flatter yourself

"You will do the job with a partner and that is final," he said and again she returned to stone. I was forced to wait back here in case she didn't take the news too well. Not that I couldn't handle it, but even Hydra took precautions. Price turned to me and with a wave of his hand I was beckoned to him. As I got closer I felt a strange pull to her.

This isn't something you should be feeling. Stop!

And I did.
"I'm assuming you know of the Winter Soldier." She looked at me up and down emotionlessly, "I do, sir."

Pierce clapped his hands together, "Good so there's no need for introductions. You both leave tomorrow before dawn."
